Couple of days ago, someone said I would never feel the same about the Ferrari. This is the first car I have ever had stolen. Since it is an almost daily driver, I thought there would be no change (except maybe for the better) if it is repaired correctly.

Who makes the best alarm systems?

Of course will get adquate theft insurance.

It has been going on since November, but on Friday the contract was signed. My main corporation will be Enterprise Computer Systems Architects for a large financial company in Boston. We will improve their business processes and change their computer systems Enterprise wide.

Will arrive in Boston within the next two weeks and will probably be there a year. Who is good to work on Ferraris in Boston if needed (will still use Algars).

Also best areas for real estate. Best clubs?

    Good Ferrari events.

    Thanks.

    WTF?

This thread reminds me of the radio ads for mail-order DVDs -
"If a cat eats a mouse and dies who killed who(m)?"
"If red equals 5 and blue equals 7, how much is yellow?"
"If brown delivers on time, when will green get here?"
"If a train leaves St. Louis at 5 o'clock going 60 mph, when will it get to tomorrow."

    Syllogism check, anyone?

You know what's funny about those commericals?
They say "If you rent 3 movies from NF and don't return them for 23 (?)years how much will your late fees be?...Zero", but! How much will your membership fees be? I calculated about $97,000! LOL

    I recommend Boston Sports Car.

As for RE, there are a lot of nice suburbs to the West of the city - places like Newton, Weston, Concord, Framingham, etc.

Translation: "I'm nervous about getting back my stolen/repaired Ferrari".

On the bright side, Commerce Insurance in Massachusetts gives you a large discount on your comprehensive insurance if you have a recovery system (e.g. LoJack).

Translation: "Contract nerd looking for next assignment."

Translation: "Moving to Boston area, need native guide."

In the Boston area, the best work on any car will be do-it-yourself. For the simple and obvious on a Ferrari, Boston Sports Car is reasonably priced. For the large and painful, the local dealer is Ferrari of New England, owned by the same people who own FoLI. For a regular major/minor service, take it out of state. And NEVER take a car into a Massachusetts shop in December, when the annual bills are coming due -- you'll suddenly develop a bad dumbsucker valve.

Commerce is constrained by the same inane laws that everybody else who insures here is constrained by here. Nobody can really give you a better deal than anybody else - it's all wildly regulated, to your detriment.

    not anymore.....

    and they're good people.

So much so, that I didn't know there was any other insurance names operating in MA -- most of the common names dropped MA decades ago.

But, FWIW, Boston will have to watch it, or they might lose the "highest insurance rates" distinction -- in the DC area my insurance is no cheaper than it was in MA. (No recovery system discount, no safe driver discount (yet).)

    Yes, they are.

First what does a computer architect do?

    http://www.sei.cmu.edu/activities/architecture/arch_duties.html

The client is Fidelity – mutual funds, etc.

If you have any business with Fidelity a few years from now, you will probably be using some of my company’s work.

Fidelity contracted out to Fujitsu Consulting. http://www.fujitsu.com/us/

In total, Fujitsu does $45 billion a year in business.

Fujitsu in turn sub-contracted out to my firm for analysis, technical design, and technical architecting.

(I hope to also learn more about mutual funds and stocks from them since I will have access to almost the entire firm and its other businesses.)

In order to do this work, had to turn down work from Sector 7 IBM in Austin, Countrywide in CA, and Dell in Austin. Am proud that all four companies contacted my company unsolicited to ask if we wanted more work.

Hate to turn down work. Probably will expand this year.

With Fujitsu, might get more sub-contract work with people like Coke Cola.

On the Mondial t, this does not include the paint and body work.

It also does not include the audio system and the K40 put in by the previous owner.

The mechanical repairs will come to about $17,000 plus tax.

While the legal work is going on, I will pay this amount out of cash flow.

Do not know much about Boston. Years ago I took a class in infrared video at Inframetrics on the tech route (128?) in Boston.

Hence the questions on Boston and Ferrari activities in the area. A football star once said, “just give me a 10 inch hole and I will do the rest”. Just give me basic information and I will do the rest.

The first posting might not be as clear as I normally am, but it was written in a hurry.

For anyone who has had a car stolen, how did it change your feelings about the car?

Will go with LoJack (or a better if I can find one) plus an alarm. Different stores recommend differend brands. This list turned me onto V-1. So who makes the best alarm?

    you document stuff?

the closest i come to documentation is to disable/enable code through IF statements which give me an idea what's going on.

just a quick browse of my current module...

If "we suck" = "ass" Then...
    If "Bacon" = "Ham" Then
If "i cant believe its not butter" = "butter" Then
    If "water" = "wine" Then
    If "virtually" = "figuratively" Then
If "dunno why this" = "slower" Then
    If "patience" = "eternal" Then
If "steak" = "well done" Then
If "new year" = "Happy" Then
    If "ash" = "caring" Then
    If "chalk" = "cheese" Then
If "indigestible polystyrene sausage skins" > "pigs gizzards" Then

etc.... man, i feel sorry for the guy that inherits my projects. :D

:D :D ... good one Ash. It's amazing how hard it is to read even my own documents many years later ... oops :D :D ;). Ofcourse everybody thinks the system will have been scraped by then!

What language? ... as shouldn't it be:

If "we suck" == "ass" Then ...

    Cheers
    Pete

i do stuff in a bunch of languages/dialects, those examples were from VBA in Access.

yeah it usually takes me about 1/10th of the time i've been away from my code to be able to get back into the gist of what i was writing at the time... half the time i'm better off just rewriting it. :p
