http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1994-Ferrari-348-Spyer_W0QQitemZ150081843388QQihZ005QQcategoryZ6212QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem I wonder what the selling price on a 348 without keys and in poor condition will be? Taking a car driving in the mud would not cause that much damage on the inside!! Is this a hurricane Katrina Ferrari? Lets play a game. Everyone post what you believe that 348 is worth, and what you expect the selling price will be.
Parts car value, whatever that is. You could never get this fixed and come out at any kind of a price. $20-25K? Ken
It sure looks like it went flooding, not mudding. My guess is $13k but that person will have overpaid. BT
This might be a good buy for the guy (tmobileguy) who damge his 348 motor and needed a replacement. tmobileguy if you are reading this you better check this one out this might be your cheapest way to go.
$10,000 about right for parts car. Appears damaged and parked in salvage yard or bought from slavage auction. Wether title reflects that or not.
Looks like a little more than someone went mudding around!!! I would say it is worth $15-$20k--if the motor is not harmed
wow ! shame, but i think 10k is high enough, even for parts, every body panel looks hit in this thing.Forget the inside.
Looks like it went through some kinda hurricane. See the spots in the guages? Those are water drop spots. Also the center console looks like it sat under water for a bit of time. It's possible whoever stole this car left it out in the rain for months. It rains like a mother in FL, and if this car sat exposed with the windows down it could do damage like that... Either way it looks like a hell of a lot of work to me.
It gives me a headache just thinking about all the work & service that needs to be performed, it needs to be parted out.
Actually, there is more value there than meets the eye. Things like the seat rails, gear gate, ECU's, spider frame, front trunk carpet (if it is a single piece), evaporator box, radio cover door, etc. etc. Absolutely a parts car, but there is indeed value in that stuff for somebody that has the patience to sell used items. Frankly, the car might have been hammered, but there's $10K worth of gears and shafts in the tranny, and a cool $6K crankshaft in the motor. Not my game (thankfully... others are MUCH better at it) -Daniel
If the stated Car Fax report is correct then this is not a Katrina victim. That hurricane hit in Aug '05 and the Car Fax shows it passed emissions in May '06 with other activity in June '06.
If that Carfax is to be trusted. Although it would be stupid of the seller to post a bogus Carfax on an auction. The car appears to have been registered in Nevada during the time the hurricanes were rolling through Florida. It could have been mudded and dumped into a creek, I guess. I agree with the other posters that is appears to have been partially submerged at some point. This is a shame. On a side note I find it interesting a Nevada car made it all the way back to a wholesaler in Florida.
Thanks for the tip...I could still buy Bruce's motor for less... so I would pass on this... Appreciate you looking out though!
The seller appears to be posting the correct carfax report: A CARFAX Vehicle History Report is based only on information supplied to CARFAX. CARFAX checked over 4 billion vehicle history events and found 22 record(s) for this 1994 FERRARI 348 SPIDER (ZFFRG43A6R0097184). I agree. There is alot of money there for those in the business. It's worth $15K easily. What a shape to see this though. V..
Both doors look fair, all glass looks OK, hood is probably usable, both front fenders look straight. Looks like they forgot to take the center caps off the wheels.... So - add all that to whatever engine bits & tranny pieces you can salvage & you could probably recoup $20k without too much trouble.
You know, we are getting so used to these uber-restorations, even of non-vintage cars, that we forget that sometimes these cars sometimes left the factory back in the day in less than perfect condition.
