Hello Guys, So, got a message a couple weeks back from our good customer, Ferrari of Houston that they sold an FF and had a trim piece in need of refinishing. The trim happens to be a match to the leather, in Cuoio. Cuoio is one of many colors we have in stock to handle trim that is the same color as leather. The dealer was very hot for this part as an out of state customer was coming to pick up 2 cars. The part is aluminum and our standard operating procedure is to strip the parts bare, and with any metal, epoxy prime before applying top coats. We did a rush job for FoH and turned this part around in a few days - in fact, it's a good thing I'm not a football fan as I blew off my buddies Superbowl party to stay at work and get this part done which resulted in me leaving the shop at about 9:10PM on Sunday The customer is very pleased with the part and sent some photos of it installed back in the car. Here are before, in process, and completed photos Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Hey guys. What parts go Sticky on the FF? (Mine all all black, wondering if this makes it better or worse)...
Hi Jason - the black does not change anything accept the refinishing cost will be lower. Black is our standard color and we apply an up charge for non standard colors. We've not done any other FF parts beside this yet but I believe the FF's parts are similar (even possibly the same) as some other models like the 458. I hate to be the one to deliver the bad news but they will go at some point - it's a matter of time.
Hello Folks, Attached are some photos of a completed FF HVAC assembly Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes, it would be nice to have access to every model car that we service and the time to make videos but we don't. Parts are shipped to us. Someone else performs the R & R. We will certainly try to make videos whenever possible.
Today we shipped another HVAC assembly, a headlight control and Main/VDA Control Before and after Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Will refinishing by your shop take care of the stickiness once and for all? What leads to the stickiness?
The coating failure is due to the soft touch coating chemistry. Our coatings are hard touch and will never fail or get sticky. So yes, when we are done the parts are good for life unless damaged by abuse
Here is a coating comparison of new OEM Soft Touch (top) and our hard touch (lower, headlight control assembly) I'd say the color is a perfect match yet ours will never fail and get sticky Image Unavailable, Please Login
Looking to get the sticky window switch surround removed to get fixed any thoughts on how to remove wold be appreciated. Daniel.
My solution, will replace with painted part, then send original to be refinished to original spec. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Dave hasn't been on Fchat for some time (disagreement with Management). He does phenomenal work. Your best bet is to go to his website and use his contact page. You will have to google StickyRX to get there. For some reason Fchat is overwriting the web link I posted.
you disagree with that? know the entire story, I'm sure Dave would appreciate you inquire more in public so I could clarify everything again.
Not fair. I know the story and wanted to "softly" explain it. I was just surprised when the link to his website was treated as "offensive". Dave was his own worst enemy on Fchat but the guy was a perfectionist when it came to building and finishing.
yes, he does amazing work and he always treated customers well. I'm not sure you know the complete story, only a few do, but yes probably best for him to let it be. FYI we block all forums competitive to FerrariChat along with any companies with a history of spamming or attacking FerrariChat. Over 20 years there have been dozens and dozens, don't make it sound so unusual that his commercial site is blocked.

I wish they hadn’t ban him. I need one of those small buttons that this hvac is missing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
