So i have quite a few sticky buttons in my F12 that I need to remove to have re-coated. Does anyone have suggestions on where to go to find disassembly instructions on the various buttons?

Dealer is doing mine, previous owner agreed to cover it as part of the transaction. 17K job!

Wow, $17K!! I still cannot understand why Ferrari doesn’t just change the coating so they don’t have this issue.

    Yeah it’s wild bud!

I’ve used one of the sticky companies in the past with great results DIY.

But ya just don’t turn down when you wrap it into the deal.

I understand privacy and such - but I’d love to thank the past owner for being such a great guy. Freed up some money to get a replacement seat back leather to replace the worn bolster.

    Stand up person.

They did, starting with the Lusso/812/488/Portofino. Then they moved to the haptic BS.

Removal of lower dash, instrument binnacle, Ito get to the backside of the sticky buttons is time consuming but doable. $17k is ridiculous.

Dealer pricing. Again - I didn’t pay for it, so I’m not complaining

In my opinion removing the goo is not the biggest issue. Any strong solvent usually work. The thing is that doing only this gives a shiny, very plasticky look to the buttons. It can probably be mitigated by applying a coat of matte clear coat. You can see what I mean on the advert pics of some cars, where the owner clearly tried to have a quick fix to the sticky buttons.

I dont know about neutrogena, but I believe that removing the goo will make it shiny, as the goo is actually the matte finish (soft touch). And indeed, I dont see how this can be properly fixed without getting the piece out of the car.

I just want the goo off at the moment so I can use my buttons in piece. I’ll deal with the shiny problem later (lesser of 2 evils)

As of now, you touch a button and it sticks to your finger and you don’t want to touch the wheel or your clothes after.

I will add Purple Power mix, it gets rid of the sticky buttons. It is pretty mild stuff to use.

Dunlop 65 Lemon Oil for guitar fretboards. I got this tip, bought it, and am very grateful for someone sharing this tip. Fixed my Maserati buttons really well!

I ended up getting every single button in the car replaced as they were all sticky. Not a cheap venture, but needed to be done.

No, not really, still have a somewhat matte look about them. Now I have to do the air vents on the dash, they turned sticky too. Maybe use a Q-Tip

Posting this again because over the years this has been one of the most asked questions of Ferrari owners. No one in this thread answered it. The two big companies that do the re-painting also do not tell you how to remove the pieces. It remains a mystery that never gets posted.

The OP wants to know where are there instructions or videos of the complete disassembly of the plastic components in an F12 that will all ultimately need reconditioning. This sounds like quite the intimidating job. No one wants to damage their car or get raped by overcharging. Personally, interior work is the worst part of maintenance. Who has the knowledge?

So I spoke with Dave of Sticky RX regarding this. Sticky RX does not remove the parts from the cars, the parts are shipped to their facility without the cars. So, they are not holding back any information or videos, they simply do not have them nor the access to every model to make the videos. Also, even if they did, it would take quite a bit of resources to create a massive video library.
