I am curious about the knowledge and quality of service provided by the above outfit, specifically as it relates to Ferraris. Does anyone have experience/ feedback they wouldn't mind sharing. Feel free to PM me.

Steve has worked on my last four ferraris and i have never had a problem with the quality of his work or his pricing. i my opinion he is one of the most competent mechanics in the business.

Steve just did a clutch and some other work for my Murci. Excellent work, very intelligent person, outgoing, and has the best price rate of anyone that I've spoken with re: Lamborghinis.

I'm in the same position. Do a search under "Steve Maxwell Exotic Car Service" and you can see posts from other forums.
My suggestion is to pay a little more and take it to a legitimate dealer.

If you're in the San Diego area, take your car to Cavallo Motorsports in Carlsbad ;-)

Steve Maxwell is a Genius. He has built 2 engines for me over the past 10 years and worked on at least 50 cars for me. His prices are very reasonable and he can build anything you want. His Shop is not huge, so if you want the ammenities of a Franchise Ferrari or Lamborghini Dealer then Steve Maxwell is not for you. But if you want a good service done at inexpensive prices, Steve is great.

I have about 5 years experience with Steve.
As others have stated if you want a nice shiny lounge with your cappuccino whilst you wait for your bill Steve is not for you. If you want a extremely knowledgeable mechanic to do quality work for less than others he is your man. I took my car to another "reputable shop" to have my window switches repaired. The conclusion and quote was that I needed $1300 per side for new motors and switches. I took it to Steve for a second opinion and he cleaned the switches on the spot in about 20 minutes for less than $100. They have been working fine since. Both shops have done a lot of good work on my cars.
IMO Steve is a trustworthy as they come.
