Anyone know of a place that restores/replaces leather wrap on Ferrari steering wheels? Mine is a little marked up and I'd like to make it nicer. I know a great place for Porsche's but they won't do other makes. I'm in NJ.
    Thanks,
    David

Why not send it back to the original manufacturer for refurb?

That way it stays more or less "original."

I didn't know that was an option. Do you have a link for this? I have an 85 Mondial. I believe the wheel was made by Momo for Ferrari? Not positive I that though.

For what they'll charge you to re-wrap it , you could buy the same one from Momo for probably about the same. When I had my 308 I also wanted to re-wrap, and ended up buying a whole new steering wheel from Momo in the same style. Kept the old one for display. The wheel was called Monte Carlo (vertually identical to original one that came with the 308), I think you can buy one for about $200.00

Mine is a Nardi and I would have sent it back to them. As sindo says it would have probably cost about the same to rewrap or even more, than a new one. :(

There is a company in Florida that restores steering wheels. I used them about 10 years ago with my Nardi and they did an outstanding job. Literally good as new. I don't remember the name, I think I found them in Hemmings but I do recall they were in Florida.

John Patarak in Chatham NJ even though he mainly refurbishes Porsches he does work on other cars. You should give him a call. His brother is the leather guy and is amazing

They did a good job on restoring a Daytona steering wheel for me several years ago. Takes a while. If molding the foam is involved it will be more, take longer and more difficult to get 100% correct.

    I would use again.
