Can anyone offer any advice on disassembling the turn signal indicators for sticky finish repair? I removed the two T25 torx screws and the airbag, but I at a loss on what to do next. The metal faceplate does not want to come off. I can’t make sense of it.

    Thanks in advance!

Did you figure this out? The only information I've found is to pull really really hard, but man it is stuck on there!

For those that find this in the future. I put my hands around the back of the assembly and front of the plate, braced myself on the brake and pulled hard. The whole unit then broke free. Do not pull just the plate, the whole unit needs to be pulled.

You can also get steering wheel removal tools that are designed for removal. But yanking hard on it is also the usual method.

I was wondering about the same thing. I just want to replace the bumpy road (suspension adjustment) button, but I don't know if I want the hassle to disconnect battery, remove airbag etc.

The turn signals, flasher and windshield wiper buttons were easy to remove. I gave up on figuring out how to get the bumpy road switch out. I probably could have sent the whole assembly to StickRX, but as my bumpy road button wasn't showing any signs of being sticky yet, I gave up.

I believe all of the refinishers prefer you just send the central wheel piece as one assembly.

The only thing that was not obvious is after you unscrew the screws and remove the airbag, you have to pull hard enough to break two rubber pieces holding the steering wheel dash in place. I couldn't get it to come out, called my indy and he was just like "put your foot on the brake to brace yourself, and then pull gently, but hard until it dislodges.".

If you try this, be sure to pull by the back, not the carbon fiber bit.

I know this is an old thread but once you “break” those two rubber pieces, don’t they have to be replaced when you reassemble? How did you handle that? Thanks!

Correct, I didn't have to replace them, the bolts on the sides hold the button cluster in plenty tight.

I never figured out how to disassemble the bumpy road button, but it wasn't sticky yet, so I just did the turn signals and whatever else I could get removed. Be sure to take a lot of photos, as it'll be two months before your refinished buttons come back and you are likely to forget how the puzzle went.

    Very happy with the result.
