I have two repairs to do that require getting inside the steering column assembly:
    - bad light switch, low beam blinks
    - horn ground "disc" - ground wire broke off

I believe I will be able to repair both of these items myself or send the light switch to Verrell, IF I can get access to them. I have the ring nut tool and have removed the nut in previous attempts to fix the horn piece. However I need to be able to remove the main metal housing to access the light switch and disc I believe with the ring nut removed item 6 below comes off, but, how do I remove item 24 in the diagram to access the light switch and disc? Is it as simple as removing bolt #11?

Yes. One bolt holds the piece in place.

Thanks Al and Jim. This will be another winter project. I priced the light switch (actually all 3 switches are one) and I found them available at prices $1800 to 3000, so repair will be a must.
