    Are the boxes the same and internals the same ?

    May need to obtain some parts for the 365 and wanted to start with my 330 GTC manual

    I don't have an answer, but wouldn't take it for granted.
    For example, 365 GTB/4, a.k.a. Daytona have been known to had at least 3, maybe 4 different steering boxes.

    talked to bill at GT Car Parts today - he said the 330 and 365 GTC steering box is the same.....

    part numbers on the worm gears the same......client want to go with a faster ratio steering, im hearing 1:17 vs the (stock) 1: 20
    worm gears will accomplish this....need more investigation.

    the worm gear in mine came from them

    Also, I'm under the impression that the 250s and 330s have the same steering box.

    may be serie 1 from the 330, but not serie 2, they have power steering. or was this power steering at that time an option?

    Series ll cars, Power steering i believe was an option.......my 8289 car does not have PS.

    I don't know if this helps you but maybe it will help me. The freshly painted box is for my 1964 330 GT and the other unpainted
    one came with the second car I purchased as a basket case .
    I think the second one is from a 330 GTC , it looks like some parts may be similar to the 300 GT box but it is not usable between
    the cars.

    I am hoping someone can identify the unpainted one , and the other is available for sale or trade for the proper box. I can try to get
    some numbers of the tags on the side when I get to work tomorrow .
