Rams in constant win now/pay whatever it takes mode. Can Stafford run the fast tempo dink that Sean uses? Hmmm. And to have no 1st rd picks for 4 years with Ramsey and Stafford trade (and 2nds/3rds also)!!!

As for Detroit....why take on the massive salary when you are in rebuild mode and can draft a QB this year? Incompetence?

Wow, Detroit got the good end of a trade, shocker......Stafford has been in the league 12 years and never did a damn thing in terms of wins. And gets hurt alot.

Detroit gets a much younger guy with some upside, 2 first round picks and a 3rd.

And for Dustman.....this is a 1 QB draft if you want a true franchise QB.....smart to see what you can do with Goff.

Beat me to it. On the other hand, Goff can now plan his future schedule more easily, knowing he'll be done playing around Xmas every year...T

"...Stafford has played in 165 games, or 85.9% of them. He missed 19 games in his first two seasons, since then, he's played in 152 of a possible 160 games, 95%..." per the Indianapolis Star.

As for never doing anything vis-a-vis wins, it's not easy when you're the face of a franchise that hasn't won a playoff game in 30 years!

Well then he sucks more than I thought.....at least I was cutting him some slack for missing alot of time.

He was more than content to take the paychecks and win 6 games every year.....otherwise he wouldn't have stayed 12 years.

I think the Lions are just a bad organization. They've not had any success since the Fords took over. In the early 1960s! Their two best players of the past several decades - Megatron and Barry Sanders - both retired early.

I do think he's more of a stats guy than a QB who can carry a winning team. It will be interesting to see how he does in LA...T

Interesting factoids I just learned. Lions one of 4 teams that have never been to a Super Bowl. Two franchises are of more recent vintage, Texans and Jags. Other is Cleveland Browns.

Lions' last NFL championship was when Ike was President! 1957.

Man, I hope Jared isn't following this thread! Is he a Ferrari guy?!?

An old joke, but here it is again: What do the Detroit Lions and a stolen car have in common? No title.

Lions did good but the Goff salary dump is huge $43 million guaranteed next 2 years.

The two 1st rounders are going to be late round picks.

Stafford inherits the #1 defense, solid running attack and 2 speedy WR's in Woods and Kupp.

Goff goes from first to worst defense. The best Lions' wideout Galloday is a free agent might not be on roster for 2021.

+1. Goff had regressed since SB. Stafford finally getting the supporting cast he yearned for. Rams' #1 D running backs and wideouts are big upgrade from Lions.

Wouldnt be surprised to see Rams improve on last year's record. Rams already a divisional series playoff team. The rest of the NFC West has to be on alert.

The Rams mortgaged their future, so this turns into a 1 year plan......but Stafford is no Brady so it will fail.

To be sure, Stafford has never had to play in many pressure games, so it will be interesting how he does in the playoffs.

I think Rams have to win now. They borrowed a bunch of dough from NFL to finance stadium and spent billions more of their own to get SoFi. Pencil in fickle LA fans, and if Rams don't win and soon, I think this is another NFL - LA experiment that will go into the dumpster. If Surf's buddy Herbert continues to ball out like he did last year, the Rams will be the second most popular team in their own home. Third, if you count the Raiders. LOL...T

Will see. Stafford only 32 going on 33. Will reevaluate in 2 years but trading for him vs keeping Goff as a $43 million backup no brainer. With Donald and Ramsey balling out in the #1 D at least Stafford won’t have to play from behind all the time like in Detroit.

Right so 30 out of 32 teams are failures since they don't reach the SB?

Might as well not have a regular season then.

I think both guys needed a change of scenery, but what were the Rams thinking with all those draft picks?? Did they mistaken Stafford for Brady/Rodgers? Good grief, I think a trade straight up with nothing else involved would have been fair. But the Lions robbed the Rams with this trade.

Rumor has it Rams were trying to get Rodgers and Stafford was Plan B. Rams had to give up picks to get Lions to absorb Goff's salary dump. Counts over 28 million against the cap for 2021. 2 first rounders and a 3rd is steep price to pay.

Watson gonna get like 3 first rounders. 49ers won't be able to afford him.

That's a huge step down IMO, Rodgers to Stafford.

Market price for Watson would have to be insane. Then again they traded one of the best WR1s for a song and a dance, so who knows!

It is reported that Stafford said he would accept a trade anywhere but New England. The funny thing is the talk here last week was of all the possible QB acquisitions the feeling was anyone but Stafford. He's been in 3 playoff games and lost all 3. Not exactly the resume we're looking for.

They lost a freaking wild card game.....if that is all you expect from a team to deem a success, you must be overjoyed like every year....

Hmm. Wonder why. It's not like Stafford has to worry about the Patriots going to the playoffs anytime soon!

Sorry, couldn't resist! Maybe he fears The Hoodie?!? You guys need to coach up Stid the Kid. He's a Texas boy...T

LMAO! B.O.B has left the building. Agreed only Jets and Fins maybe have draft capital to snag Watson and give up Darnold or Tua as well. Texans might still draft Wilson Fields or Trey as future QB1 with first pick.

If Watson went to SF they would be loaded for next season but do they have draft capital?
