I miss everythings there : Arch, Applebee, Red Lobster, The Gallaria, Fontenac mall, Forest park, I-40, I-44, etc. I'm so far away. Really miss the day I cruised my carrera to SLU. At that time, '92-'94, I'd seen testarossas, but none of F40. Glad to know there is at least one. Nowaday I drive my 348 thru city of Bangkok. I'll visit you one day St. Louis!!!.

Did not get a look at the plates. I was recovering from whiplash when it went by and trying not to rear end the lady in front of me (so to speak...). There is an F50 that sits in front of a sports store all the time down in the valley (Chesterfield) and I heard it is the store owner's. I have not seen it so for all I know it could be a k-car.

Ferrarikp, did you go to SLU? I take it you now live in Bangkok? Back in '94 the area I am talking about was under about 15 feet of water! You would not recognize it now!

    Hey Jim,

Which sports store are you reffering to?
I am through there all the time, never seen it?

It sure was underwater, but it was 93, have you ever been in the school house tavern? I drank a lot of beer there in my younger days.
That is where they rescued a guy by helicopter during the flood.(its gone now flood victim)

How's the car running were you driving the 308 when you saw the F40?

    Chuck

Bentley-Maserati St. Louis (a Ferrari authorized repair shop) was servicing an F40 from Indianapolis (somewhere in Indiana). Maybe it was on a service test drive.

    Hi Chuck!
No, I was driving my high profile Merc Sable Wagon with my girls! 308 is still cookin' along. Wow, I am getting old - it was '93 wasn't it! I may have had one or two beers at "the" tavern...;0) Do you remember the Golden Cup 2? THE best biscuits and gravy in the UNIVERSE!! Do you remember the hitching posts that used to be in front of the Smoke House? Mark can relate to this - we used to ride our horses down on the levee. We would stop there, tie up the horses, and grab a sandwich and a beer or 10. I was told about the F50 by the guy I was visiting before I stoped by your house. I will give him a call for the details. THis guy lives across the street from Mark's aunt's old farm.

    Hi Mark!
That's a long ways to go for service! I wonder who the guru is at B-M SL that warranted the trip? BTW, I was at the arena named after your aunt this last weekend. It was a huge pleasure horse show (Quarter Horses). The place can accomodate 1000 horses and the had to put up tents with temporary stalls for just under 1200 head!! They had a couple of big money classes, one $150,000 and another $100,000. Didn't bring home the big bucks, but had a great time!

That F40 was from Indy? I didn't know that. Makes me wanna start scoping out Indy for it.
When I went and looked at it the entire rear bonnet was off and the turbos were gone so I got a really good look at the entire engine. Very exciting.

I was under the impression the car came up from Springfield. One of my buddies worked there for a while and said they brought the car up on a n uncovered trailor. We should get some STL F-Chatters together sometime for a beer or two and some dinner

    Hey guys!
Sounds like a plan to me too! That is, if the volleyball practice/games and the basketball practice and the dance lessons and the "compensated salaried overtime", etc., etc. - does not get in the way! I think the next STL event is the Hill Days parade and track day, both in October. What do you think?
    Jim

BTW, just to clear up any confusion, the sports and especially the dance lessons are my daughter's activities!

What's more exciting is after the "Hill" event that afternoon, one of the FCA club members is inviting us to his warehouse in Manchester. He's got great cars in his collection and just recently acquired a 288 GTO. This one I won't miss!
