Anyone have any insight on the CR Spotless Water Deionization System and/or the Griot's Garage Portable Water Deionizer?

    Any comments would be helpful.

I have one. It does seem to make much cleaner water. I still dry mine anyway. The biggest problem is that the throughput of water is pretty low. All that filtering takes a lot of the pressure and flow away.

Thanks for the post. I kind of figured that. I wanted it because even though I hand dry, there are always tons of little areas where you cannot get to and then the water slowly leaks from those tight spots and leaves a bunch of streaks.

Use some compressed air or leaf blower to get the tight spots

I have two of the CR systems and they work great. I have bought them for friends as gifts too. The Griot's is a copy cat of the CR which came first.

I use the CR deionizer. It works pretty well but as the resin pellets start to lose their effectiveness the spots start to show up. I wasn't aware that the resin was spent when I last washed my 360 and after my last wash I left the car to air dry in the garage as I usually do only this time it etched water minerals (spots) on the horizontal surfaces ie: hood, roof, fenders. I got most of the spot marks out but some still remain. From now on I'll probably dry the car anyway even with the CR water. Compressed air following the CR is probably the best solution.

The CR Spotless works great. I first used it on my cars and then used it on a clients. I have white vehicles so the client I have has a black SL 65 Black Series. I was nervous to use it and let it air dry but it came out 100% spot free in the blazing Houston sun. Make sure to check the meter every time before you use it to see how the resin is doing.

I've had the CR Spotless (DIC20) unit for about 1yr now and it it outstanding! I do still blow-try the car first just to speed up the process, along with the wheels. But zero spots so far.

(As for the low water pressure). I deliberately put in one of those pressure restrictors before the "IN" side to keep the flow down. My understanding is you want the water to flow slow through the unit for its full effect.

To date I've not had to change out the resin packs yet........ but man it is one excellent unit. (Actually much larger and heavy than expected). Very very nice unit.

Think I got mine from Autogeek.net......... but BJ's also carries the DIC20 as I recall at an excellent price!
