Any of you guys dealt with this dealer. I am looking at a car there and have been in contact with Steve Jones. Any feedback positive or negative would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

I have bought two cars (Ferrari and BMW) from Sport Auto over the past three years or so. They are a very reputable dealership with an honest and knowledgeable sales staff. Steve Jones has a wealth of Ferrari knowledge and ownership experience, and I credit him for giving me the bug to buy a 328 when I first saw his at Road Atlanta many years ago. Tom Jones is as good a Ferrari mechanic as you will ever find, and you can trust him with any Ferrari work that you will ever need done. I only wish they were closer to me; I live in Huntersville, NC.

You can't go wrong with Sport Auto!

On the one hand, I'm very biased -- because I consider Steve and all the folks at Sport Auto to be friends; On the other hand, I believe I need to be careful in my recommendations because as a Sponsor of Fchat and "in the business" myself, I worry about repercussions of a bad recommendation or appearing too "in bed" with any particular organization.

Having said all that... let me offer this:

    1. I have never seen an organization with more up-front, honest, decent people than Steve Barney, Darrell Kimrey, Tom Jones, Steve Jones, and Jim Schubert.

    2. Tom Jones is about the most straightforward person you'll ever meet. If SportAuto has a crappy car on their showroom floor, Tom Jones would tell you the truth. Pretty amazing for a technician, who works 25 feet from the bosses door! Calling Tom Jones a technician is like calling the QE2 "just a boat". Anyone and everyone who has ever dealt with him admits he's a damn Jedi Master when it comes to these cars. He doesn't sugar coat the story behind *any* car.

    3. SportAuto is the type of organization overrun with real enthusiasts. They know the cars, they know the history, they want customers to share in the passion and excitement. I've never felt like a "mark" in their showroom.

    4. I'm somwhat in the market for a BBi. They've called me, out of the blue, to say "Hey we've got a car here you might be interested in... but if not, please come drive it simply to better understand the Boxer market". They are helping to educate me on an unfamiliar model -- and I know it's a long sales cycle for them. Believe me, my next Ferrari will come from SportAuto.

    5. If you want cheap, go to eBay. If you want to know that a car is accurately represented, well sorted out, and most importantly, there's somebody to "stand behind" the sale, go to Sport Auto.

There are plenty of places to buy a Ferrari in the southeast. The FNA dealers for example, didn't just "fall off the turnip truck". They offer sales, service, and support to a huge swath of the Ferrari community -- and quite effectively, I might add. In the world of independents however, I can't fathom that you'd make a mistake at Sport Auto.

Thank you guys for your thoughts. Just from my few emails and conversations with Steve Jones- they seem to be an A+ organization. Steve has been nothing but helpful over the last few weeks in regards to this car. I'm glad you guys feel the same way, it definately eases my mind. Now if I can just get him to come down on the price a little, I think we will have a deal. HAHAHAHA---That was for Steve if he's out there!!!!!!!!!! Thanks again guys.

You will not find nice and more honest people anywhere. If (HA!) I ever buy a late model car it will only be from them.
