    Hello again everyone!

Haven't taken out the TR much this season, but just got back from a 40 mile drive in it. I noticed some times where I thought it had less power but thought nothing of it. However, after I pulled it in to the garage and turned it off, I turned it back on to get ready to check the oil. Anyway, it sounded like a diesel truck, running like crap and I'm assuming on half the engine. I stopped and restarted it a couple times and same thing. I smelled raw gas from the drivers side exhaust. So I'm wondering what parts of The ignition system start to fail when the engine is hot? Any ideas?

    Thanks as always!

Thanks for the suggestion Romano. I brought my wife out to the garage to hear the car running crappily and within a few seconds of it running you could suddenly hear it start running normally again, like it was trying to impress her or something. :)

A loose wire in the ignition secondary, or perchance, a coil on its way out?

    Best of luck, John

I had something similar at one point and was a fuel pump relay that controls left side.

A TR engine should run smoothly and quietly (although weakly) if you lose a fuel pump or a bank of ignition. Your description sounds "rougher" than that so may not be so simple (and Gremlins that come and go are never easy to catch ;)). One easy thing you can do is just unplug/replug the round C12 and C13 connectors on the black box over the RR wheel well to rewipe those connections.
