    Dear FCRA members:
    *
    Welcome to the Ferrari Club Racing Association. *The FCRA was formed for you, the owners and drivers of Ferrari Challenge cars. *Enclosed you will find an FCRA shirt, a suit patch, a sponsorship package for your car, and an FCRA temporary racing license application. *
    *
    We ask that you please have the suit patch placed on your racing suit on the right or left upper breast. *
    *
    * * * * The sponsorship package can be sent to your racing team for application to your car, or applied yourself. *A diagram of locations is included in the package. * Please note that each of the sponsors have provided valuable consideration to be on your car. *While these sponsor decals are not mandatory to race in our series, they are necessary for the accumulation of championship points and monetary goods and services which will be paid to the FCRA members. * So far the sponsors have provided over $225,000.00 in cash, goods and services, with $150,000.00 in cash being paid to the FCRA. *The Board and the Membership will decide how to use these funds. *Thus far, we have purchased a liability policy of $6 million dollars, paid for the production of the graphics, and other minor associated expenses. *We expect there to be enough cash left to distribute directly to the drivers at racing events.
    *
    The temporary racing application needs to be completed, scanned, and emailed to [email protected]. We will confirm your eligibility quickly. *In order to qualify for the temporary license you must have some racing experience. You must either 1) currently hold or have previously held a racing license from another racing organization; 2) have participated in our preliminary FCRA races; 3) have a certificate from a racing school; or 4) have the recommendation of competency by a pro racing coach that is enough to satisfy us that you have the ability to race safely. *If you do not meet any of these criteria then please contact us and we will see how we can get you ready for the start of the season.
    *
    One requirement to race is that you must purchase and install a transponder. *We have chosen the AMB Tran X 260 Direct Powered Transponder, which you can purchase directly from www.pegasusautoracing.com.
    *
    *
    Please note that this is a spec. Hoosier racing tire series. *Meaning that in order to accumulate points and receive sponsor benefits you must run on Hoosier racing tires. * Hoosier has new race tires for the 348/355, 360, and 430, which will be specially branded with the FCRA logo. *You or your team may purchase these tires directly through Hoosier or our tire supplier Bob Woodman. *Hoosier tech engineers and tires will also be provided available/present at each race. *
    *
    Also, we are excited to inform you that Taurino Racing is sponsoring our series by providing a free set of racing pads to each driver that commits to run at least three events this year. *You may contact Taurino Racing directly for this sponsorship at www.taurinoracing.com.

    The 2011 FCRA Championship schedule is below:
    *
    1) April 7-10 Sebring*
    2) June 11-12 Sebring**
    2) July 23-24 *NJMS***
    3) Sept 2-4 Watkins Glenn****
    4) Oct 13-14 Homestead*****
    5) November 4-5 NOLA******
    *
    * * * * ** Celebration Exotic Car Festival
    * * * *** FCRA/CHIN Motorsports event
    * * **** Grand Am Support Race
    * ***** FCA Event (FCA Members)
    ****** South Beach Classic
    ****** French Quarter Classic VII
    *
    There are six events or rounds. *Each round consists of two races. *Drivers aggregate points from each race toward a total for each round. * *Drivers may only add points from five out of the six rounds toward the championship. *This allows drivers to choose to participate in only five out of six rounds for maximum points and miss a race without penalty. *Or drivers may choose to run all six rounds and drop the lowest round. *In the event of a tie between drivers, weight will be given to the driver placing highest at the championship finale round in New Orleans. *
    *
    The rule and point schedules are provided on the website at www.ferrariclubracing.com. *The FCRA was not formed for profit or control of any one person. *It was formed to benefit you. *We currently have a Board of Directors who will be serving until November. *After this time the membership will vote on the new Board. *
    *
    In closing, please note that the FCRA is staffed and run mainly by volunteers. *If you would like to volunteer and help participate, please contact us. *I look forward to seeing you at the track. *
    *
    *
    *
    Sincerely,
    *
