Did you see Heiki just jump over the barrier with his overalls half on? That looked pretty cool, but could so easily have gone wrong! Ron would not have been impressed if he'd tripped and smashed his teeth out!

Rosberg not keen on the new chicane either, so he went the old way!

What's this "ace of spades" stuff in front of Alonso's pit garage?

Kimi's had a pretty severe haircut!

I bet the Renault team are pretty pleased with that result - 2nd & 3rd behind KR and it looked like Alonso could have done more.

I was wondering the same, but they weren't ace of spades, they were diamonds.

Everybody practicing on heavy fuel loads, guess that's why times were off and balance problems reared their ugly head.

I think they short fueled and sent them out for Telefonica and FA glory... Hah!

Yes it looks that way. Check the times and compare free1 to free 2. Looks like Ferrari backed off quite a bit as they practiced with more load while Alonso had pretty much the same time in both practises. I think he is trying to put on a show for the fans at home. It would not surprise me if he goes into quali with about 10 laps of fuel just to try for a good grid position and keep the spaniards excited for a few laps of the race

Barring any mechanical issues, it's pretty much Ferrari-McLaren-BMW again this weekend. While I was surprised this morning looking at the leaders on the timesheets, it's pretty smart for the frontrunners to focus on fuel loads. This is an aero/handling circuit, so it's more important to get that balance situated than to show how fast you can be in that last practice session (especially if the race is supposed to be close)

That said, Ferrari looks to be .5 secs faster than Hamilton (Kovalainen doesn't get dinged for losing his engine, right? If not, then I expect him to be in the mix as well)

I must say I am mightily impressed with the Force India team. With those times they would have been 10th and 11th this morning so I don't believe they have benefited from other teams running on full tanks.
I understand their new hospitality building is even bigger then McLarens - maybe size does matter!?

I agree 355...Alonso will try some stunt to see if he can only roll up front for 10 laps on his first stint...

...I dont think Renaults are better suited, they are just very, very light on gas and doing their best to show the brands and Alonso...

Don't quote me on it, but if there are two, I believe he runs two small playing cards with either an ace of spades or a diamond(don't remember which) on the back of his helmet for each championship he's won. The team may be putting them on his garage now. I think he and Flav are avid poker players.

There were people in the crowd waving giant playing cards. I assume they were like the ones on the helmet. By using this idea can we assume that Alonso has no intention of winning more than 4 championships?

I guess it's possible. Then again he's chaged his helmet design pretty much every year since he's been in F1 so a little paint and a few Kings to add to the Aces might do the trick.
