    Hello there,

Did anyone here attempt to remove the driver side carbon fiber panel of the Speciale?

Last time I opened the fuel tank cover, the button went through the door panel (Ferrari quality..)

I can still reach for it but it's very close to disappear inside, which would be an issue.
I'm hesitating to bring it to the detailing garage nearby because I think I can do it myself, but don't want to destroy a carbon door panel which is probably worth an arm.

It's not the same piece than a standard leather 458, so no need to point me out to the other topic ;)

    Thanks in advance !

This happened to my Speciale as well a couple years back, FWIW I had my dealer do the fix...I believe the notes said they just re-glued it in lol. Italian quality!

I've removed Speciale door panels a couple of times (to install my Speciale audio system). It's easier than an Italia (less steps) but once you get to the point where you need to pull the actual panel off of the door, it can be scary. It really takes a lot of force to detach those metal pins from their corresponding sockets in the door. You'll see the panel flex before the pins pop out.

I ended up doing the same, while the car was at the dealership for its yearly mandatory maintenance.
Pulling hard on full carbon fiber panels seemed like a recipe for disaster (at least if I did attempt it myself)

Within 5 minutes of my speciale delivery, I tried to pop the button to the boot to make sure the cover and tender were there and the same thing happened. Since I just had it delivered, the selling dealership took care of it and I had Ferrari do it. It is just a glue in there that a degrade. Easy fix but be careful with your carbon fiber!

Glue, a true loser and is that the best they can do? There has to be better alternatives.

My car had just come off the transport in February and it was likely due to the epoxy being cold.

I asked dealership about a more permanent fix and got a solid no. Now I am just incredibly gentle when I press the gas door button.

Be careful when pulling on the carbon door panels. Sometimes the metal pins are stuck so hard that the panels come apart and separate at the glue. I forget which parts are glued but Ive seen it happen.

Is there an easier way to pull it off, like a good spot for the grip? Is the top leather part glued to the CF panel?

The top leather part is attached to the door, that wont come off unless you take out the screws that are behind the carbon door panels.
The carbon and the leather top are 2 different parts.

I honestly can't remember where the metal pins were. Sorry I cant help much..but they did come apart on the ones that we were working on so just be careful.
