anyone replace the factory speakers on a spider? If so which brand, did you go with? did they fit right in place or was there work involved? I have the stock deck still also.

    thank you.

Does your car have the factory hi-fi option? Are you referring to the door speakers or the speakers behind the seats?

Scuderia Audio has sold over 300 stereo systems for 360's and 430's over the last 12 years. We have a system that is composed of Audison 6 1/2" midrange speakers for the doors and Audison 1" tweeters for the A pillars. The door speakers require no cutting or drilling, and no passive crossover boxes need to be installed. In fact, you don't even need to remove the door panel, just the large silver trim piece. The system also comes with 3D printed replicas of your black plastic triangles that hold the tweeters at the bottom of the A pillars on your doors. In the past, we used to offer a free service where we would remove the stock tweeters from the stock triangles, then grind out all of the plastic framework in the middle so that the aftermarket tweeters would fit. It looked great, but left you with two problems. First, if you look carefully at the angle of the stock tweeters, they shoot the sound right at the other occupant's feet. Horrible design. You can't even hear the tweeters at that angle. Second, they don't make the stock black plastic triangles anymore, so once you modify your originals, you won't be able to find replacements. Our triangles are exact duplicates of the originals except that ours point the tweeters at the precise angle to shoot the sound right straight at your head for perfect stereo imaging. You simply pull off your stock triangles, save them for when you sell the car, then push our triangles into place (we pre install the new Audison tweeters into the new tweeter pods). That takes care of the door speakers.
Scuderia Audio has the only 360/430 mini subwoofer replacement kit on the planet that allows you to retain your stock speaker grills to retain that all stock look. Our kit is composed of two 5 inch, aluminum coned subwoofers with monster magnets, two laser cut, stainless steel, tig welded adapter plates and all mounting hardware. You don't even need to take the speaker box off of the firewall.

There is one other thing worth mentioning. You can buy the most expensive speakers in the world, but if you are powering them with your stock Ferrari booster (which puts out 60 Watts at an incredible 10 percent distortion), your stereo will still sound like total crap when you turn up the volume.
Our "Super Amp" contains 210 Watts of high end Mosconi power, but uses a similar outer case and even the same large single electrical plug. This is a five minute, 100% total plug and play swap out. Even with the stock speakers, this amplifier will completely transform your stereo system. We've sold almost 250 of these amplifiers. Works with stock radio as well as any aftermarket head unit.

I installed Alpine S-S65C and kept the original tweeters. It worked fine and to be honest when driving with all the noice from wind, surroundings and sound of the engine in a spider you won’t need a high fidelity system.
If you listen allot when just standing still then this is another question and perhaps need of a nice high end system.

Agreed. If you want to hear crisp, accurate, clear music while blasting down the highway with the top down, you need good speakers and lots of power.

What solutions do you have that work with the $7400 factory Bose HighPower HiFi option on the later cars (i.e. 2009)?

    That is a good question.
I've had exactly two inquiries about this in the past 12 years, so I didn't feel that was worth sinking thousands of dollars into R&D to come up with an upgrade solution. Those two customers ended up removing the two speaker boxes behind the seats as well as the amplifier hidden under the back of the transmission hump, and replacing them with a refurbished OEM hi-fi cradle, one of my super amps and my 8 inch subwoofer system.

forget the stereo and enjoy the real music going on right behind your head.

I have an OEM multi disc player in my car's boot. Never used it once. Just sayin'...

I'm right with you. However, for those with wives who are tired of hearing the engine scream at nine grand for 8 hours straight, a nice stereo can score some points with the queen.

... I deleted what I wanted to say about SmecheriaAudio.com... anyway.

.. since when can you hear your music in a Ferrari??? if you can, you bought the wrong one. I did drive a 360, it's not that quiet to enjoy tunes in it; get a 740i if you want comfort .. or a Toylex of some kind... whatever. Don't cough up on speakers and amps you can never hear.
Shut that radio down and enjoy the engine sound, you can listen to your idiotic tunes at home!

I used the stereo once, only to get a traffic report from the local news/weather/traffic station years ago.

FYI, I have the Audison speaker kit from ScuderiaAudio in my 360 spider and it sounds terrific. The imaging is far superior and the music is clean and richly detailed. They’re easily driven cleanly by my Sony MEXGS810BH with no external amps. Like others, I mostly listen to the engine but when I do want to listen to music, it needs to be clean enough to overcome engine and road noise. This setup delivers.

Installation was easy. I did it myself and it was just a matter of popping out the tweeters and removing the trim panel at the bottom of the door that forms the door pocket and houses the OEM door speakers. Very straightforward for anyone who’s ever worked on any car stereo, but of course if you don’t feel up to it, you could always bring it to a shop for installation.
