I have a 360 with the stock seats. Manual adjustments. To be honest, I find them pretty uncomfortable. Looking for after market replacement seats, and came across the SPX Special Editions. These look awesome to me. "Italian leather "with Alcantera inserts. Black with red stitching which matches my interior.

Unfortunately, they are not in stock anywhere local. They are also very expensive. However, I think they will look great in the car as is, I will save a bundle on not having to get them recovered.

Anyone have experience with the seats? Any other suggestions? Image Unavailable, Please Login

So ended up getting a Sparco SPX seat for my 360. I installed it using the Sparco 600 base and sliders, but I find that it is very high. It feels like it is about 2 inches higher than the standard seat. The headrest touches the convertible top when it opens and closes and I sit up so high I cannot see traffic lights. Do you have the seat mounted the same way, or have you found another solution to get the seat a bit lower? I am going to end up returning the seat if I cannot find a better way to mount it. Any advice?

Please read through my installation thread, I had the same experience with the bracket and the top

I had a plate fabricated and when I was done I would say they sit probably 1-1.5" lower than I did with the sparco bracket

It was a fair bit of work the way I did it. I think others on the form have found other solutions as well

You can also just mount them to the floor using angled slotted brackets, but then you cant use sliders.

I saw your solution and I love it. I'm gonna get one of those plates fabricated and mount like you did (I printed out your PDF and I'm gonna get it to a local fabricator).
    a few questions:
    1) what screws/bolts did you use? any chance you have a list of sizes?
    2) what type of material was it made out of? Type and thickness of the steel used

    Thanks

    Great, happy I could help!

Please note, though the seats are lower than the Sparco bracket, and now below the rear arches behind the seat, they still don't sit as low as factory. I am 5' 9" and my eyeline is toward the upper part of the windshield, not mid. Personally I like this as I feel I am looking down on the car a bit more. With the OEM, I was more 'in' the car looking out. Just a caveat before doing all the work. If you are anywhere near central NJ, you are welcome to come check it out.

You may want to make a template out of wood first and make sure it matches up to your car before getting it made out of metal, I mean they should all be the same, but wouldn't hurt. You can just remove the passenger seat and test on that side.

Please note information about the airbag sensor. I now have an issue with this because of the approach I took.

    1) As for the screws/bolts, there are several. Ones to mount the plate to the floor and ones to mount the seat to the plate, and then ones to mount the seat belts to the seat. I think I covered most in the installation thread, if you can point me to specifically which ones you are inquiring about, I will see if I can provide specs.

    2) hmmm, I 99% sure it is 10ga steel, not stainless, I protected it with the paint and glaze to prevent corrosion. I don't seem to have that written down, think I discussed it and didn't record it.

2 things I would suggest which I would have done differently if I did it again
    1) I probably would have made the surrounding frame a bit smaller, doesn't need to be so wide (on the inside it is close to the central tunnel). I did it for strength, but knocking 1/2" off the sides and 1" off the front will give you a better fit in the car and more room for your hand when grabbing the handle to slide it forward/back.

    2) The angled holes at the front of the seat mount where the daytonas mount. I thought I would make covers for them, but in retrospect would have been nice to just have tabs on the front of the frame that bend down over the holes, like the seat plates in this post:

In general, this seat mounting also came out amazing, but I couldn't use this approach as I think fabrices had OEM seats and rails. the Sparco seats don't line up with the OEM holes.

and if you haven't seen this thread, strap in. woah.

Thank you, this is really helpful. Definitely gonna explore some options to mount these seats lower. I may try to make a template and just see where the seat sits, but I honestly don’t want it any higher than the stock seat. I may look for side mounting options or some other solution.

I don’t really need it to slide once I get it where I like it. Maybe a direct side mount would be a better solution.
