Anyone that wants to see this "happening" should make an effort....

The Navy is wanting the strip back, and the County really does not have the $$$ to fight about it. I think the days of this (really cool) event are numbered...

    Art Car #1 Ferrari 308GTB.......132MPH

You really should run it, I'm serious.
You have to attend Orientation and Tech first thing AM tho...

All I had to add was a fire extinguisher tie wrapped to the passenger seat.
Nomex and helment and good to go!

    Rod361,

I will be down at the Texas Mile this year. That's my home town! Not that it's that exciting there. ;P) I will shoot you a pm. We are going to have a tent there to keep out of the sun and watch the cars. Are you in the Ferrari Club of Houston?

    Ciao,

    SRR

I wanted to run my car but tried registering online and said it was booked and I couldn't :( I'm guessing you have to do it months in advance? But that's not good if an event like this is gone not everyday u can top out your car...

Maybe a problem with the website, or preregistration is "timed out"...is there a phone number to call?

It may well be "full" based upon what I posted above, but I would pick up the phone if you can poke around the web links and find a phone number...

Reg. Filled up quick, I looked into it and they said I could run on stand-by. Pay full price to make one or two passes. They could not tell me which day I would run but said I would be able before the weekend was over. Next time I will try to register when it opens. This was all last month. The weather should be perfect, let's just hope it's not windy.

    Ciao,

    SRR

True enough, a few Vettes I saw them screwed down thru the passenger floorboard, but they told me "fastened securely" could use tie wraps.....it was rather ironic, as I don't know how I would have cut it lose!!

    :D :D :D

I just took it easy, that was my 'fully loaded" baseline run, (spare tire and tools onboard) but it was so crowded (and I had the get back to Houston) that I only made the one run....I had arrived late at Noon Saturday...they were letting the two Art Cars in as a sideshow, I think.....

    It was fun!

Valeria and I went into the record books...

The OTHER Art Car finally out ran me by 6MPH, but blew the motor and trans in doing so, oiling the track.

THEY were not popular at all, for that, but went back home cheering for themselves.

    I'm still the "World's Fastest Art Car" still running....:D :D :D
