    Hi all,

Anyone here have an online source for Wiggins connectors?

Holley/Earl's is making some smaller ones it appears also (-8 to -16 line size) but I don't think they are being manufactured yet. I also found a company called Accufab that makes something similar.

I'd like a setup for a -12 line but I'm also thinking of putting them on all my water connections so I'll need some 1.25" and 2.00".

    cheers,

    Sean

somthin funny going on with the site, been trying to reply, seem to have lost the quick reply option too.

Sean, XRP has a version $$$$ and the other place I know of pegasus racing supply. there is another option of connector that is clean and simple, well two actually. first is gates new shrink tube hose for cooling system, available thru mcmaster. the other I don't know what it's called but you have a sleeve and and 'O' ring assy with internal 'C' clips that hold the outer sleeve onto the hose ends.

aside from the shrink tube option, the other two have limited range of miss-alignment. they work best in non-movment or clamped pipe runs.

This is for inside the engine for my dry sump scavenge discharge so I really want all metal fittings. For now I might just use an aluminum "pipe coupling" if I have to hunt for the Wiggins connectors. I'm finally ready to put the gearbox case on the bottom end and drop the motor onto my test stand. If I can get the Wiggins connector in a few days I'll go that route.

I'd like to see those other connections you are describing above ... always like adding solutions to my ever expanding "mental tool bag" :).

    Thanks and cheers,

    Sean

    www.accufabracing.com

$59 for the clambshell and inner sleeve ... $20-$25/pc for the weld on end.

Back in the day I recall them being $250/pc :).

    cheers

edit: Anyone actually use this style vs. the Wiggins? They don't appear to have the trick latches that the Wiggins connectors do ... don't want some PITA pin I have to line up. Might have to buy one to check it out.

here's a variation of what I'm talking about
    http://www.pegasusautoracing.com/bigpicture.asp?RecID=7022

I like that if you used a internal clip design there's nothing to snag and it really cleans things up. the gates shrink tube is also very neat, it evolved from the petrochemical industrial side and now meets sae, it's getting common on new production vehicles now. they run about $2~$3 per piece, I haven't found it sold by the foot yet. there is some industrial shrink hose that may be the same that is sold by the foot but it's about the same cost and min order is about $100 which is a bit for a gamble.

    hope that helps.

I clicked on the link ... those are cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... I didn't think anything existed that was cooler than a Wiggins connector ... that is pretty darn close though :). I really like the one hand installation of the Wiggins style but you make good points about this product.

    cheers

Okay this just keeps getting better.

Scott ... those clamps are made by:

    http://hargettprecision.com/index.php/contacts/

They are about 10 miles away from me. I recognized the name 'cause they make some really trick Porsche parts.

    Cheers!!!!!!

    Thanks again,

    Sean

Thank you for the link. I'll check it out if I need them. I'm sold on Hargett's product for now.

I went over there today and met the owner ... what a great guy. Reminded me why I play with cars.

Here's some pics of what I'm doing with his goodies.

    cheers
