So I have a 355 that I work on occasionally. Someone messed with the key fob to the point that the system got locked out completely. The key fob is the red one. After paying for the pin code from Ferrari we got it but not sure how to enter it or what to do with it. Following youtube video didn't work.

Is there instructions on what to do with the pin code and what the different key fobs are for etc. etc. or a thread for it? I found lots of thread but nothing really on how to enter pin code.

    Thanks

The pin code must be entered with the key. You have to turn the key on and off in certain sequences. Once the old code is entered then the red fob button is pushed and the new red code will be learnt at the same time you program the two black fobs.

If you do not have the original code i think your fracked. This was how i did mine and it worked. The process is definately on here somewhere because thats where i found it. I believe tazandjan posted it.

All we have is the red fob. Never had black ones. We contacted Ferrari and paid like $380 for a pin code. I'm hoping it's the original but how would we know?

I'll see if I can find tazandjan's post.

    G'day Sean,

perhaps this rip-out of the Alarm Manual is useful too?

And let's hope your PIN isn't sth like 0000 or you'll have to work on the ignition forever ;-)

    Good luck

You need the original code, my guess is you got a new red one and code, but the old code has to be entered first.

The timing is important when entering the pin code, sometimes it takes a few tries to get it right, also you need to make sure the LED is flashing slowly before you attempt entering the pin code - it's shown in the Youtube video.

The pin code is useful for 2 things - 1: turning off the immobiliser & starting the car if you don't have a working fob (say a flat battery in the fob ) and 2: adding another set of remotes to the immobiliser so you end up with 3 fobs ( red & 2 black).

The pin code the dealer provided is likley the code the car left the factory with, but if new fobs have been added to the car at some point then the original code will have been overwritten, which may explain why the code they provided doesn't work.
