I called my dealer today. I asked them when they are getting some. If you type in Google, it says "end of May"

Their answer: END OF THE YEAR, maybe. Don't really know.

    Click!

Seems like nothing has changed at Alfa Romeo USA.

So another sales guy from my Alfa dealer gets in touch with me. Finally says some cars showing up in July or August. Says 4 are coming in. Says he'll send me a quote and the specs.

The sheet has $6000 "market adjustment" and a bunch of options I don't want (or even understand) plus a $700 doc fee taking the from $42,000 to $63,000 (with 4 grand in taxes).

On what planet are they living?

Two seconds after I got the quote I wrote back "not interested". IMO, if you want one of these wait until the end of the year and get them for a song. Or maybe get one in a larger market like LA.

Another potential issue is dealership availability in my neck of the woods. There are two dealers to choose from for purchase and warranty work, however each is about an hour away depending on traffic. Despite the generally glowing reviews of the Giulia and Stelvio models in the Giulia thread here, their relatively good availability and price in the used market, I'm reluctant to take the plunge. The Tonale more so because it's new and unproven. Hopefully they are really great cars.

They've increased production for the Tonale due to greater orders than expected in Europe.

I became interested in the Tonale when I saw it in the flesh at the New York Auto Show. I never really loved the looks of the Stelvia, but really like the Tonale. Everything I've learned about since then as a sporty plug-in hybrid has increased my interest. I'll wait to see how reliable it proves to be, and I won't pay that crazy mark-up, but it seems like a likely replacement for the Macan when the warranty runs out.

I have 37,000 miles on a 2020 Guilia TI Sport.
No issues other than ripping off the front bumper cover on parking stops. (It's a poor design, + too low)

    Literally trouble free.

Smartest bet is to stay with the ICE. Italians are starting to revolt against the EU EV mandates.
