Very true. My brother was looking at a Supersports. MSRP was $276K. Dealer said he would take $190K. I believe the dealer had 6 Supersports at the time and they had been sitting on the floor for about a year.
Maybe its just about time to consider one ... At $180 +/-, not a bad so-called Charlie Sheen option--"because that's how I roll"
In this video Sergio Marchionne says entry level price at $359,000 This video was from the Geneva show a little over a week ago. He says this 30 seconds into the clip. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-L3SEXqmW5I[/ame]
OMG - Cariad seriously! He corrects himself and then says actually the entry price is 359.000.00 The bland test car was 370K. <eyeroll> Anyway - that SS at 180 is food for thought.
Doug - you must really want to like it - you keep posting about it But seriously - if you liked the shape and appearance of the FF (some subtle clues are suggesting you aren't so keen on it ) where would you price it? - Sadly in Australia it will be cripplingly expensive, a 458 is >$600k here
You are so right ... I love Ferrari and everything it has always represented. My guess is they will be closer to 200 - 250 units due to outside factors. 275k would help This is not a 430 458 price range or a Cali SL price range. Guys at these levels have no problem writing a check for what they want. Now take the same guy and he flinches at 400k and perhaps at 325k. The price is not my problem it's the depreciation and secondary market. How many guys want a used very high maintenance car for 200 - 250 let alone 300 - 350! There is simply a very limited market for the FF primary and secondary - IMO It just isn't jaw dropping ... gotta have bucket list styling! Australia at 600k ... wow! I gotta be honest - USA should tax the h*ll out of luxury!
I still will stick with under $300K base in the USA. $285K. No more posts until official price is announced.
+1...I'm guessing that's pre-gas guzzler tax and desitnation but still a very attractive base price for such an incredible piece of machinery.
Well Derek, your at a dealership so you should know. Apples to apples 458 Italia $225k MSRP, FF $285K MSRP. 458 Italia Gaz guzzler, dealer prep, delivery $230,675K, MSRP FF Gaz guzzler, dealer prep, delivery $292,125 MSRP 458 Italia average MSRP with options $257K FF projected average MSRP with options $332K I look forward to a bottle of Krug from a certain poster !
Without knowing what the GG tax will be it's impossible to nail down an exact amount but I bet you're pretty close.
What determines the GG tax? I would imagine the FF would have one similar to an SUV if it's down to actual consumption
It is directly related to fuel consumption, as the name would suggest. It's actually a pretty simple rule but without knowing the exact fuel economy just yet we don't know how much the FF will be taxed. Here is a link to provide the info - http://www.epa.gov/fueleconomy/guzzler/420f06042.htm#calculate
Plus tax... Which in California is almost 10%. $30,000 for the privilege of driving your Ferrari on some pot holed roads: lovely...
The dealer told me 360K Care to provide the source? FWIW ... the dealer adds 10k of air freight ... apparently Ferrari demands it from the buyers according to the dealer in the introductory months.
So we have first list price confirmed - UK. £227k incl. VAT, which is only 6k more than 612. Not too bad.
This equates to an MSRP of $292K exc delivery etc. Gas Guzzler may be lower than 612 due to HELE system fitted as standard in USA. better be able to disable !
My dealer says air freight is optional, just as it was on the 458. Doug you will be pleased that I am cooling on this car as a second new Ferrari in the stable. Comments confirm it is a "soft" Ferrari aimed excessively to new to the brand users. Passing it by on my way to the 458 Spider which will be delivered to first US customers Q1 2012.
Video of the optional passenger data screen for speed, tach...etc. Not sure if its been posted or not yet. Details come up at the 2:00 mark. Its discreet, but I thought it would be different that this, more mini-gauge like I guess. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c70DS8AJpYU[/ame]
