All right guys. The seller decided to raise the price and answered the question as to why by pointing to market trends. Whether that is a satisfactory answer to you or not, it is the answer.

As the price change was on thread, questions about the change were legitimate. However, any further comments on this point will be considered a violation of the classified ad posting standards. Continuing discussions about whether it is appropriate for a seller to raise the price belong in the discussion forums.

For those who think the car is over priced, don’t buy it. I personally think it is a fine example of a TR and again if I wasn’t petrified of the expenses of owning one (or any late 80’s Ferrari) I would have already bought this one. GLWS

I've heard this car in person and it is the most alive, living, breathing monster I've ever heard. Fantastic car all the way around.

Its somewhat amazing to me that one can get an iconic supercar like this for under a $100k.

Relatively high production #'s (approx 7,000 vehicles produced) and the cost of mechanical upkeep. The model also has some relatively cheap clunkers that are running around with deferred service. These poor condition examples pull down values to some degree with the uninformed buyers.

The truth of the matter is that the car is exotic, relatively rare, and iconic, but not by any current day metric is it a supercar.

well of course, it was a supercar in 1989. That's what I was attempting to write with the word "iconic" modifying supercar. Is the XXX a supercar by "current day metric"? (where XXX is any 30+ year old era supercar). Anyways, that's another debate for another thread. But to describe an 1989 Testarossa as an "iconic supercar" would be accepted by most (all I would have thought).

That's interesting...7000 TR's? Wow. Ferrari hasn't made nearly that many of any of the v12's since then have they?
