McLaren F1's???? 1 in AUSTIN??? Please show me the way. I do own the $1000 hand bound super duper McLaren F1 book, now I just need some eyes on and personal pics to complete the box! James
I've known about 1 in Austin, but I can't believe there's one within 50 miles of Dallas. Guy needs to start going to more meets.
<laughing> Uh yep.......... When I worked for them I held the record for the employee who wrecked the most. Not something you wanted broadcast down the halls.
Dave, LOVE your TR6! Dude you and I are right out of the same mold man! I am a HUGE Triumph fan! I'll see if I can post a picture of my baby. First car I ever bought for myself... I was about 1/2 way through my senior year (Nov '82) and bought a 1980 Triumph Spitfire in Pagent blue with the tan/white interior! Ah what a car! If this pic works it is NOT my car but exactly like the car I had. This one was restored, but mine even w/ all the miles would have given it a run...It was my BABY and I kept is VERY, VERY nice! The dollar to fun ratio in a 6 or a Spit is amazing. They truely are a blast to drive. Thanks for the nice words about mine. She's an exceptional example. Just to give you an idea here is a picture of the engine bay. (correct valve cover has been installed since this photo) . Image Unavailable, Please Login
McLaren F1 in Austin?? Dave, please PM me and enlighten me. If there is one in town then I need to invite him out to our events.
Hi Mike. I'm not privy to that info, sorry. Old colleague told me about the 4 Texas registeries. So before I get flamed by some guy who has nothing better to do than call someone on a technicality I should restate post #24 above by inserting the word "registered" in between the words "2" and "in".
The BMW owner here in FT Worth had one back in the mid 90s im not sure if he still owns it but I rem. he took his kid to school in it every once in a while lol
Dave, that is just BEAUTIFUL! That is better than the car looked the day it rolled off the assembly line! WELL DONE MY FRIEND!!! James
Sold. Repainted to match his Enzo. He had broken the mainshaft on the gearbox and sent the transmission back to Surrey, England to have the gearbox repaired. Risi Competizione offered to repair it for him but it had already been shipped to England. It took forever to get it done. Ordered a new Veyron to replace the Mac.........Hopefully I will be talking to him within the next couple of weeks and will get caught up on things.
The wrecked Enzo is owned by Matthew Groner. It's the wrecked "Eddie Griffen" Enzo. It's at Matthew's Auto Sales on West Montgomery Road. It's not going to be fixed and is for sale as-is. http://www.matthews-auto.com/PostNuke/index.php?module=InventoryList&func=viewcardetails&inventoryID=266
Don't know. I have not kept up with them.......... He did have the first Countach brought into the US and also the only RWD Diablo. His personal on-staff technician was Lambo factory trained without working for Lambo anywhere.
I wonder if this is it? I know he's been in Ft Worth with the McLaren years ago not far from were I live. See what you can find out James. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=137385041&postcount=2984
I will see what I can find out. He used to come to Hurst to take refresher training at Bell Helicopter every once in a while and he would usually drive up. That is how I got the McLaren for three days. He had brought it up to show it to me and I gave him my demo so we could put it on the showroom at Moritz during his stay. It stayed on the showroom only at night and was outside all day for the three days it was there. A lot of people got short rides in it. I offered to let the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and the Dallas Morning News do an automotive article on it but both declined. One of them actually stating the "none of our readers are interested in a car like this. It is too expensive. Most of our readers would not like us wasting the space to run an article on it. They would rather read something about Nascar". Open my public profile and you can see the McLaren in front of one of friends houses with me, my wife and son in it.......
Interesting. Thanks for the info. It would seem it would need to be sent back to Ferrari for a proper fix?
