Look closely... so did I...the guy at the hobby shop tried to warn me not to get the F1 set
I remember going to a slot car club with my dad when I was little. The place had a track that was about 6 or 7 lanes wide so people could race. Scroll to 1:40. [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DF6Nx8Yq3Ik[/ame] I'm pretty sure Dr. Emmett Brown was amongst the strong influences that made me want to learn the ways of science. Many have accused me of being just as obsessed with detail. All the best, Andrew.
I called Cloverleaf just now to confirm, looking forward to seeing you all there Thursday Feb 9. If everyone could bring a litle something to snack on it would stave off the hunger pangs. You can use bacon for the bumpers.
I am not going to be able to make this one. I have been fighting a nasty cold for the last 3 days. I don't think you guys want this one. Jeff
Get well soon... Thx for those who brought snacks; I didn't see the request until tonite. What a blast! I will surely be back. Had a riot. Poor mike had to put up with us to nearly 10 pm. But think he made some new customers.
Thank you for putting this together guys! It was a lot of fun beating you in the races (well, not really!) I am glad that this group is still active during the winter. I will see many of you on Saturday! Chris
Thanks everybody for coming out, it was a great time. We can do it again in March if you are all game. I think Mike enjoyed having us too.
THAT WAS AWESOME!!!! I'M READY TO DO IT AGAIN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!!! Hey Vince...PM me your PayPal email address so I can pay back the $10.00 you spotted me. Thanks!!!
Cool stuff! I own a pretty good sized collection of HO scale cars of varying vintages / manufacturers, including some 60's era Aurora Thunderjets, Aurora A/FX, Aurora G-Plus, Tyco, and some other lesser known brands. I also have a "cheapy" 1/32 scale set from the 60's...forget the manufacturer, but it's in great shape, although not worth much.
We gotta find a way to get into this guy's basement!! [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lemEAOlcxKE[/ame]
NO way!! That's insane!! I love how they used the onboard camera on one of the cars too. If you can find a way to get in, I'm game! Chris
I need to get over there and tune my car I purchased at the last trip. It's fast but I need help to adjust that chassis; back end too loose!
Sorry I did not check the thread yesterday afternoon, I usually only do it at lunch and at night. I thought we'd make it monthly. How does March 8th sound? Patrick, I too am itching to get a car, I may get a kit ahead of the next event
I am booked that nite (end-of-season banquet; 48 high school kids and I part ways for 8 months, thank goodness). If it turns out to be the following Thursday, I'm in!
Patrick, We can do March 15th, no problem! I did buy the kit last night, but I see there are no instructions. I guess they assume everyone is like Dennis and has built their own cars. Dennis, Do you have a link to Slot It that shows us newbies how to build our cars (and install toilets)?
Vince...actually, all my cars were purchased box-stock. I've done a few mods, like tires, magnets, and a couple of motors, but that's about it. Here are some great video links which I've found: http://video.search.yahoo.com/search/video?p=slot+it+slot+cars+build+tips
