As you can see from the chart below, Breckenridge and Loveland have a deeper base than A-basin, which I think is typical at just about any point in the season, though A-basin closes later than Breckenridge.

Below the chart is a recent radar grab. Aspen, Steamboat, Vail, and Loveland are getting snow now. Just about all of Colorado will get snow over the next 48 hours.

    Enjoy,

I understand the skiing in Utah is awesome.

Never have skied any place but Colorado...haven't been able to justify the extra expense. It is soooooo convenient here. ;)

Winter Park is looking good for this early in the season. Even the bump runs had good coverage. If yesterday was any indication on the year ahead, it is gonna be a GREAT ski year.

Actually what you need presently, Dave, is an avalung- the snowpack is hideously unstable. Lost folks in Jackson, Salt Lake and Norcal - all inbounds, aka 'controlled' areas, of the resorts, soooo.. BE CAREFUL

I skied Beaver Creek yesterday. It is scary how empty the slopes were esp. for a Saturday. Not that I was complaining. Front page of Vail Daily states skier visits down 6 percent compared to last year. I suspect people are spending less even if they ski. The shops in Vail were all empty last night.

Skico reprted skiers were down 8% before Christmas and the same as last year after Christmas.

Went to a Robert Earl Dean concert last night after the Winterskol fireworks. It was a great concert and it was jammed. The audience literally went wild. People dancing and screaming in the old Wheeler Opera House.

    Life is good.

Spent all last week in Breckenridge and boarded for the first time. It snowed like crazy last Wednesday shutting down a lot of roads.

Had a blast and can't wait to go back to learn more. Also drove into Frisco and rented snowmobiles (high performance). Can't wait to go back.
