What you do think ?
A Pista would be tough to pass on. The Pista is really a different car then comparing a 458 to a straight up 488.
Apples and oranges… I would personally keep the 458. I don’t even like red cars but the stance of your car is amazing. Plus, you can drive it almost wherever you want. I think the piece that would really be a special occasion and a track only car Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat
One of biggest regrets I have was trading in my 458. 488 was one hell of a car but it never touched my soul like my 458.
LOL the Pista will never sound as good as the 458 no turbo car can. But the Pista is an incredible machine, more modern, better tech, handles better way faster, etc...
My view is if you aren’t going to track the car then go with something that you really enjoy cruising around in. For me sound, handling, relative reliability and looks are the most important. If you want to go to the track here and there I understand the special edition models like the pista and in that context sound isn’t quite as important. If you’ll track a lot then a dedicated track car is safer and will perform better- in this case I don’t understand the special edition models since you’ll be frustrated on public roads.
I love my 458 spider as well...but the Pista is currently the most beautiful modern Ferrari...between the 2, I would do the Pista for the looks alone. Im giving up my 458 spider for a speciale because I still need NA but want something more special. Also going from a spider to a coupe is the hardest decision I have every made. Seems like you're a sound guy since yours is straight piped. ...coming from a sound guy too(mine straight piped IPE)..you might miss the sound. Especially with the top down at full WOT up to 9000rpm. But between the 2.. Pista for looks alone, to me its a masterpiece and maybe maybe worth no scream. I wish I can just add a Pista P.S we literally have the exact same spec, race seats with red stitching . I even have the same Laf center bridge with same OEM extended Paddles. ..we have same taste!
Not frustrating at all. The Pista drives incredibly track or street. The sound after break in is decent and some of us are adding exhaust systems. There is no comparison to a 458, not even a little bit. Pista is on a completely different level.
It depends what you are using it for, I'm happy with my 458 spider and will add around it, would I sell it and buy a pista? No, I wouldn't, its not a money thing, we get to know and love something and sometimes its best to stick, I have sold many things in the past and some time later regretted it, some of these things are cars some of these things are not but, I know 100% for sure if I sold my 458 spider it would be something I regretted selling no matter what I bought in its place Sent from my SM-F916B using FerrariChat.com mobile app
458 is a beautiful car, a game changer really. I recall when it was first introduce, I couldn't believe how perfect it looked. I wouldn't mind adding one but in no way can it compare at any level to a Pista. Not looks, not performance, nothing. Sound is pretty good in the 458 but its not v12 Ferrari sound, I have the F12 for that and soon a GTS. Keep things in perspective, the Pista is the most beautiful and aggressive looking Ferrari built in a long time with the performance to back it up. Its been a while since Ferrari could say that.
Agreed but it’s just so hard to compare. If the NA scream is what gets you going and you have Pista $ then get a Speciale.
I have the FF for family tours and v12 sound just need an exhaust installed and it will sound epic Sent from my SM-F916B using FerrariChat.com mobile app
