    Trying to help a friend bring a classic car from SoCal to Guadalajara, Mexico. Any suggestions would be much appreciated

    What is it, Mexico has strict laws on imported vehicles. Must be 30 years old is the biggest one. I actuality live about 3 hrs north from GDL. Also, the cost to import is not cheap, everyone has to get paid..

    Go to the local Mexican Consulate, you can do it all from there. That’s the easiest way, I wouldn’t do it on the Mexican side, they will hold your car until the process is done, and also more chances of them hitting you with fees. You should be able to file all the paper work there, then you can reach out to anyone on the Mexico side and get plates, then you can just drive it across or pay a freight forwarding company to ship it across.
