A while back, someone posted about trying Shake-Away rodent repellent. It is composed of granules soaked in fox and coyote urine. It sounded good, so I've had little piles of it around my toy cars for a month or so. So far it seems to be working. Have any of you out there tried this stuff? If so, how is it working for you?

It sounds like something I need to look into. One of my daily drivers was attacked by a rodent bearing a wire fetish. After excavating it's nest and fixing the wiring I could see was damaged, there is still undiscovered carnage as the cluster no longer works. The battery tray, power distribution block and possibly the left front fender may need removal to access the fuzzy nibbler's handiwork.

I use a pest control service for various critters around the house...and they include mice in their service.

SO...for specific recommendation from those who deal daily in this nuisance, phone your pest control guy.

I normally use Decon packets for the mice. It seems to keep them away and after a few applications I don't see any traces of them. I put 1 on the passenger floor and 1 in the trunk . Works for me.

Lots of talk of using Irish Spring soap to deter mice, bars on top of the tires or around in car, shavings around etc. Bought a classic recently and this is what the guy had been doing. No evidence of any mice being in the car. You might want to give it a try?

Another car I had bought had had them everywhere. It's a real pain as you never really get rid of the urine smell. Fortunately no chewing through wires.

I've heard that on modern Lotus's, rats like to chew through the wiring. Something about it they like.

I use it to keep neighbor's cats & wild skunks/opossums from crawling through my hedges and crapping in the garden. Works pretty well.

The post may have been Mine, I have been using the Shake-away now since Nov 23rd when I bought My 328 and stored My AMX. There has been no evidence of mouse attacks so far, they really liked the seat stuffing in the AMX but no mouse houses found yet. My wife started using the stuff in Her pantry when She found mouse poop and has not found poop since. I have a waiting to be restored Austin-Healey in a detached shop that was being ravaged too and there does not seem to be any further damage being done. I am happy with the results so far and purchased another can because spring will bring increased activity at least until the Black snake that lives in the walls of My shop wakes up.

Yep, it was probably you. Thanks for the tip. I believe Shake-Away has turned the tide againest the mice. I also use the electronic mouse chasers, but they have not been as effective. Thanks again.

Irish Spring does not work in my experience. Had a bunch of bars on my XLR-V two years ago and the critters enjoyed it for dinner. I've been parking the V in the same place last year and this year without Irish Spring and so far, no problems.

Yes, I bought some at ACE, but couldn't find the larger size locally, so I ordered it direct from Shake-Away.
