I hope this really is a positive documentary, and not a Stallone feature film.

So, you want them to overlook the fact that he was ruthless prick who would do ANYTHING (including lie to stewards) to get his trophy ?

Let's just show the happy bits, right ?

Maybe they'll show that famous interview with Jackie Stewart where he asks Senna why he has to come into contact with so many other drivers, Stewart put the man in his place...

Senna in contact with so many drivers? Only incident that stands out in that respect is Suzuka 1990. Other than that Senna was just as ruthless as any ambitious driver needs to be to make the best of his talents.

As long as we list the same tons of incidents for Schumi I have no problem...

Senna won Monaco 6 out of 10 times. Some say at the most demanding track in formula one. He could have one two more times if in 84 the race wasn't stopped and in 88 he didn't crash due to complacency since he had such a big lead and Ron Dennis told him to slow down.

The great Jackie Stewart told Senna that in Senna's first 4 seasons he came in contact with other drivers as much as every past world champion combined ! This was an interview before the 500th GP (Stewart mentioned it in the interview) so I think it was early in the '88' season. Clearly Senna was pissed at Stewart for confronting him and you can see by his facial expressions that he would like to run Stewart off the track !!!

Senna was like Dale Earnhart, popular but won by using questionable tactics quite often. IMO he was shown how it should be done by Prost.

Interesting that at the time Stewart was Alain Prosts neighbor and later commented in 1992 that Senna was the greatest Driver of his generation.

actually, if anyone got "put in his place", it was stewart by senna, he shut him down pretty hard. would have been really amusing if senna had popped him in the jaw like he did to irvine.

    :D LOL

You seem to have a very selective memory. Senna looks pretty calm to me about the question and even bemused as it's being asked.

You mean like Monaco in 88? :) Yea, 1.5 sec faster than Prost in the same car. Take a look at Prost's astonishment at the end of the clip and Ron Dennis' smile. He sure got put in his place by Prost.

I think he was actually more than 2 seconds faster earlier in the day but did not want to go out again since he secured pole and had the out of body experiance.

Of course he looks calm to you, he's your HERO !!!

Worship him if you will, pardon me if I don't follow along. Senna was one of the worst sportsman to ever compete in F1, conniving and selfish. Please pardon me but I don't need to watch your little video clips, I saw the original. And for those of you who make comments about Schumacher, I don't argue with people who knock him down a peg because of his behavior on the track, at least he was man enough to admit to the stewards that he intentionally hit JV. Senna took the cowardly road and lied, and took home a WDC which he clearly didn't deserve, how sad.

As for your reference to the '88' season, if you had used any of the scoring systems used in the last 15 years in F1, your hero would have lost his Championship to Alain Prost in that year, one of the most consistent seasons by any driver in history.

You might want to take off the rossa colored glasses for a moment. I am a huge Schumacher as well as Senna fan, but sportsmanship was never Michael's strong point, ask Damon, Rubens, JV, Eddies Irvine and Jordan, etc... Both were amazing drivers and by far the most talented of their time, but neither was capable of allowing themselves to lose, even if it resulted in a momentary loss of morals. Senna and Schumacher were both extremely generous off the track with the charities they supported. If we want to talk about conniving, let's remember Prost and his constant whining about not having an equal car to any teammate that gave him a run for his money, please do not misconstrue this to mean that Prost was not one of the top drivers of all time, but sportsmanship was not his strong suit either, ask Nigel Mansell if you have an hour. All three share the unmitigated quest to be the best of all time and very little patience for anything or anyone that got in their way of achieving their goals. I feel very fortunate to have seen them all race many times live as well as on the television and do not see anyone other than possibly Alonso that is even close to their league of the current drivers. All were amazing talents, but undeniably ruthless on the track.

Who is going to play Senna?

I hope it will be somebody with a bit of resemblance. Nothing is more annoying when the person looks totally different.

Rumor has it that Antonio Banderas was getting cast for a role as Senna back in the mid-90s timeframe. (I believe I read it in a Christopher Hilton book on Senna).

It is ashame it did not come to fruition since he does have a decent passing resemblence to Senna...
