Can anyone recommend a Self car wash in lower Merion? I'm thinking of something like the one on RT 100 just above the PA Tpk in Chester County for those familiar. Thx.

    there aren't any.

Wait, might be one on County line road (Haverford Road) just before Eagle road. in haverford.

On your left as you head east.

Not sure, might want to google it.

    I think that's right.

I just googled it and the picture sure looks full service.

There is one in King of Prussia on Henderson Road just past the Wonder Bread wholesale store at the Amoco station near Colonial Electric

That's the best I can do.

Thx for all the suggestions -- I'll keep this thread for next time. Turns out I just went home and washed the 360 in my driveway. I have two tips for car washing in near-freezing temps -- 1] if you wait too long to dry off the water, some of it will start to freeze to the car (less than 10 minutes at 33 or so degrees) and 2], if you decide to use a damp towel to wipe off dust off your dash, try to avoid sitting in the open door sill because if its wet and you are there too long, your ass (really your jeans actually) will start to freeze (and stick) to the door sill plate. Both are more amusing than anything I suppose.

Might be a good thread for everybody to post their favorite Self Car Washes in there area.

We have a descent one on Chichester Ave a block up from Meetinghouse Rd in Upper Chichester.

I also noticed one off of Naamans Rd right before you get to Home Depot that looks like a nice place.

What I would LOVE to find is one that actually has doors that you can close when it is really cold. There used to be a Getty Station on McDade Blvd that had 3 car wash bays with doors on them that I used to use all the time on my way home from work many years ago. There was always a line in the cold weather. You would think that somebody would open a place like this in our area. You would think it would make a ton of money. Even if you could rent it by the hour.

The one that I mentioned at the beginning of this thread is pretty good. Its northern Chester County though, so I'm not sure how many would benefit from this info. Regardless, its very close to the D'town exit of the Tpk, more or less across the street from the HD dealer and just above the Carsense. They have like 6 bays and the hose is supported from the ceiling. There are like 10 settings on the dial (wash, wax, tire/wheel cleaner, spot free rinse). You can modulate the pressure of the stream and some settings are really strong (which is excellent for wheels) I think it was $5 for 25 minutes. Worked really well the one time I went there before I moved to Center City.
