    Hello,

I own a 1997 F355 Challege car and am happily collecting all kinds of related memorbilia and related items. I recently purchased a pair of arcade games. The 2 seat side by side F355 Challenge and the full 3 screen F355 Challenge games. Both are going to need a little TLC and was posting here to see if anyone else has experience with these machines. For example, I know the side by side is missing a couple of Naomi boards. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

    Erik

I only know them from playing them when I was younger. The three screen is the best racing arcade ever made and still hasn't been topped. Great finds. Post some pics of your challenge car! :)

I spend so much money playing the 3 screen one in my local arcade when I was little...probably could've bought my own!

Unfortunately can't help with the boards.

If they're unfixable might be worth it to convert them into a proper side by side sim rig of todays standards, direct drive, high res monitors, pedals etc, but still in the original casing.

Got the 3 screen unit from an online auction. I just randomly search auction sites for F355 challenge stuff and this time got lucky. Bought for $1700 + 10% buyers premium. Cost almost the same for shipping and customs brokerage. Before I bought it I talked to someone on the ground and they plugged it in. Two of the screens came on. The furthest right screen stayed dark. Then came up with a message saying could not find network. Am guessing it was set up to run as a one of many units that raced against each other. Might just be a dip switch setting to fix. It’s showing some wear with the drivers seat finish wore down and some cabinet wear and tear too. Found an owners manual online for them. Have downloaded and will be reading all I can. The two person unit was advertised as missing three circuit boards. Paid $700 knowing I will be on a scavenger hunt for the missing pieces. Cabinet and seats look to be in great condition. Am thinking with the combined units I should be able to get one working and then spend time getting the parts to fix the other. Was reading online about people who have converted old CRT screens to modern LED’s. Might have to consider that. Years ago I got to tour Jon Shirley’s garage in Seattle and in the warehouse with his millions of dollars worth of cars was a 3 screen F355 Challenge game. If it’s good enough for him it’s good enough for me. Haha

That's really great value...amazing how relatively cheap they are still.

It really is quite funny because just a few days ago I was actually thinking how cool it would be to have one of these but converted to modern machinery.

I believe the triple monitor one runs 24'' monitors, but I believe they are 4:3 not 16:9? Simple case of measuring including the bezzles and see what fits in there. With a bit of luck 27'' will fit.

Funny timing, I recently found two (so a proper pair) in the US and have wanted to buy it for a long time.

The guy is hesitant to sell it to me, but says "make an offer"

I'm sure if I get it the freight will cost more than the actual cost.

Thanks. I managed to find the boards I needed and there is a company in the UK making replacement decals. Things are looking good so far
