I don't think all drivers are dummies, some have technical savvy. Engine modes may have been selected following their input, so in that case they understand how it works.
Everyone complains of how boring F1 is now but an Alonso/ Leclerc vs Ham/Boattas would’ve been an amazing battle all around in 2018. I would’ve traveled to more races for that.
FA gave Ferrari a nice amount of time out of his life and should have had 1 title by pushing to the limit an under-performing Ferrari. I do not blame FA for leaving. He did the best he could literally with less than perfect equipment. Poorly timed yes but he gave 5 years 2010-2014. That is a long time.
To know how these cars work, specially when talking about something "invisible" like electronics, you have to be an engineer, and a good one. In this case we´re talking about a very arcane "rule bend", so complex that even the FIA engineers couldn´t understand it.
Correcting the weak points of the team is good management, and Vettel had become one of them, and even worse, he was a very expensive weak point. Still a lot of job to do, but it´s a good beginning.
https://www.planetf1.com/news/stefano-domenicali-sebastian-vettel/ Former Ferrari team boss Stefano Domenicali has downplayed talk of team-mate drama at Ferrari, convinced Sebastian Vettel will “behave correctly”.
"On his way out of Ferrari, Martin Brundle says Sebastian Vettel will be a “bit persona non grata” in the garage but will “fly” out on track." - more likely fly OFF the track, LOL!
I hope you're wrong, but your comment is too close to the truth. Vettel was paid 120million to win a championship, not crash and make more unforced errors then his peers, including a 2nd year rookie.
Hope I’m wrong too. Watch him finally come good after, as you so well stated, $120M and many wasted opportunities - including a couple of potential championships. In any case, I don’t wish him any bad luck - he seems like a nice enough guy - but not feeling sorry for him, that’s for sure. Especially considering how much money he’s made being mediocre.

No shock as the press leaks detailed his 'no offer' offer lol. A year too late I think. He has a record but I will not miss him at all.
I agree! Also why Vettel makes this comment now? Messaging to Binotto. Useless it is for him. He has a record of winning but not since he left Red Bull a long time now. There is some 'bitterness' hidden I feel ................
From the link - No offer at all lol - Thats an assessment of his worth. Very very damaging. "And he has said that he and Ferrari never got into talks over a contract and that he was never offered a deal." Was it not Vettel who leaked the news before the team could provide its position to the press as well???? Poor form if true but I do not think he executes emotional decisions well at all.
last crazy rumors from spain. alonso will drive very soon for renault.. ricciardo to mclaren before the season end. Sainz free to go to Ferrari earlier Vettel ? Plausible when you consider what he said about his contract renewal today
