Well, it's time to get the interior up to shape. The seat bottoms on both sides on my 8 are cracked. Does anyone know if they are the same as the QV and 3.2 seats? Original V8 hints that they are, does anyone know for sure?

Judge are you going to sell your old seats? If so I could probably use them. Mine had a few tears and anything would be an improvement. Thanks.

I might. They're not in good shape if I do get another set, driver's bottom is shot, back and head rest might be saveable, passenger bottom has a tear in it.

My father found a guy in B'ham that did some nice leather work for my sister's old Lexus, I want to check out that route first before I go with a second set.

Ok Thanks. If not please let me know if you find a lead on a decent set of seats. Thanks.

Okay, found a used set at Ferrari Service of Costa Mesa, they ship on Monday.

If you're interested, both seats currently in the car are salvageable. Passenger side is in much better condition, but does have a small tear on the bottom cushion. I can take pics if need be.

I'm going to redye the interior upon receipt, but I'll put the pics in a different thread.

Looking forward to seeing your "new" interior. Perhaps some "before and after" pics?

No reason not to turn this into that thread, after all, I started it.

The plan is to redye the existing leather in the back seats and the door panels and I need to see how bad the seats are that I bought in CA, they will have to be dyed to match.

Here is what it looked like today (also the clutch slave cylinder started leaking on the drive home, one more thing to add to the to do list).

Can you take a picture of your rear carpet? Does it have cut outs for the bolts that mine does?

    Thanks,
    Erik

Four bolts and 20 minutes later, both seats are out of the Mondial. The used seats from Ferrari Service showed up today (thanks Michael, just as promised). They're a bit dusty and greasy, but the leather is soft and there are no rips or tears. They are cream colored and I want to keep the interior tan, so I'll need to do a color change (going darker, should be okay) on them. I've decided to try Leatherique to redye (that and Mike Charness is on the other side of town if I really screw up). I did cut a small swatch that I plan to send them to see if Connolly "saddle" #3218 is really the correct color.

I'll be getting with them tomorrow to find out what I need to order.

The Connolly saddle may be too "orange" for your taste, though that's what you see on the newer Ferraris. I had mine special mixed to a more tan-looking tan than the saddle.

And yes, I'll be glad to help you if you need it.

Today's update. Spent about an hour and a half working on it tonight. First thing I did was spend about an hour scrubbing the new seats with water and some Dawn soap to get some grease stains off. Just general prep work. I also decided to go ahead and take out the rear seats (two nuts each and some fiddling, a three minute job if you pause for a sip of beer between sides). Wiped down the seats with water and a rag to prep them.

George from Leatherique got back with me and we're going with a kit #3 which I'll order in the morning.

I'll call it 2.5 hours in the job so far.

Forgot to mention, I did see dye overspray on the rear seats which means it has been redyed at some point in the past. The new set of seats never were and there is a night and day difference in the softness of the leather. I'm really looking forward to see how Leatherique works out.

The Leatherique showed up when I was in Tokyo. Spent the last two evenings with the oil and cleaner portion. Going to let it rest until Monday and start prepping the surface then.
