Anybody else have a 458 with out scuderia shields? I’ve looked at all vehicles for sale and they all seem to have them. Curious if anyone has an idea of the percentage of units that were ordered with out the shields? Also, were the pininfarina badges an option? I purchased my 458 from Ferrari BH, and it doesn’t have shield or pininfarina badges. Wondering if previous owner debadge the car?
The Pininfarina badges just stick on. I had ppf and ceramic coating put on my 458 and the detail shop handed them back to me. No Scuderia shields is not so easy to de-badge. There would be a hole and depression in the fender.
Thank you for your response. I’m now wondering if many of the cars for sale have aftermarket shields? As I haven’t seen another 458 without shields besides mine??
My sense is that very few 458s, 488s and F8s were ordered without shields. It's more common to see shieldless front-engined cars. I'd also guess that aftermarket shields would look pretty odd on fenders that don't have the depression to accommodate them. In other words - I think your car really is pretty rare in that regard. Not a bad thing!
OEM shields are recessed into the wings. A few years ago an owner detailed replacement of the his 458’s wings and the addition of shields.
My Speciale doesn’t have shields. And I know Eilig has one without as well. But definitely pretty rare. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I've seen only one with no shields. It was a 2012 with 68,000 rental rocket out of Vegas. Only option it had was LED steering wheel. Low spec to keep price low and rent out.
I know a place in Dallas that can replicate the factory option of painted shields that you wouldn’t be able to tell if they were or were not done by the factory. I am sure there is someone in Cali that can do the same.
There is an option for size. The front engine V12s look best with medium or large but the small looks pretty good on the 458. It is larger than the inset shields though.
Except they can’t do it under the clear coat. I’ve seen their work, it’s pretty obvious it’s not OEM.
I think no Scuderia shields is an elegant way to spec a car. After all scuderia shields are really only meant for race cars. Just enjoy your rare option.
I'm glad there are cars spec'ed both ways. My F8 has shields, my Lusso does not. I like the variety. And agree - very cool to have a rare 458 without shields.

It’s under clear coat and you would be hard pressed to tell who did it. Not obvious. The last I saw was an accident repaired unit.
My car always did look a little different, until I realized it didn’t have the shields. The shieldless look has grown on me. But I do think in a red car they are a must lol.. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
It doesnt look bad without shields, but I prefer it with. The all black option is the best version without shields though, because its stealth mode
My F8 doesn’t have shields. I believe I’m the second owner. My Lusso has carbon fiber shields. Dealer told me that it must have been ordered with yellow shields and a prior owner must have replaced them with carbon.
