OK, this topic may not go over too well, but I'm curious if there are any people with real experience on both. I'm down to 2 cars for my next purchase (was 3, but a Boxer dropped out due to risk of unknowns). Basically the choice is a 15-20k mile Scuderia and save $100k or a 4-5k mile '05/06 Ford GT. At the moment, leaning towards the GT, but I don't have more than 5 minute test drive experience with either.

100% street driving, probably 1,500-2,000 miles a year.

    Thanks

Wow you have pretzeled my brain. My two favorite cars. Not sure I could pick. Might come down to your comfort in each.

No, pricing is lower now than 2-3 years ago. Used to be there was nothing but salvage cars under $300k, every Heritage was close to $500k.....Now there are lots of options for $270k and you can get a Heritage with some miles for $350k.

That's actually what I meant; the peak has passed.

OK, there are cars like this that come up but they get sold within days or sometimes hours (I lost out on a couple like this). I had to raise my budget just to find cars that I can take time to evaluate sufficiently.

Yes, like alot of blue chip cars, they are taking a breather price-wise....so good time to buy maybe.

No view on value if this is an investment discussion.

But to drive they are both great, just different. I rode in a GT recently. Super cool but wouldn’t give up Scud to make room for one.

GT has torque and a manual going for it. Blunter instrument, and you can tell its made by ford (not bad build quality just cheaper feeling to hands and eyes). If it didn't look so damn cool the drive alone would not make it overly special in my view.

Scud sounds far better to me. Feels better put together. Sharper, more eager personality than the GT. And more competent overall performer with all of the Ferrari theatre you could ever want. Im a manual guy but the F1 really grows on you.

I currently own both and previously posted in a similar thread about my impressions. Feel free to pm me if you have any specific questions. Happy to help.

The Ford GT is by far the superior platform. A Ford GT is an experience at every car show, park the two next to each other and the crowd Favorite is always the FGT. Theres Ford GT's with 100k miles and still going strong, they were built to last. If you want to make the car faster 1500 dollars will make it way faster. Service cost is almost nothing. Theres a reason why Doug Demuro list one on his list of must owns and theres no mention of a Scud.

Yes, I agree, I'm prob $10-$20k low so $240-$250k should get you a good car that will hold or appreciate in value better than a scud will.
