People vote with their wallets,Lambos are readily available at significant discounts while Scuderias (with selling prices equal to LP560 AND new M5 thrown in as daily driver)are basically sold out.
That "hot air" must be worth something after all.....

I've driven the 430, Scud, Superleggera and LP560. (430 and Scud at Ferrari Pilota) (430, Superleggera and LP560 at WCD Xtreme).

From my more or less back-to-back comparisons, the Ferraris definitely have a sweeter steering and balanced feel to the chassis. Not by much, but you do notice it when driving one right after the other. I'm a huge fan of the AWD Lambos, though. You can still have a lot of fun with them in the corners and for 99% of drivers, my bet is that they are faster than the Scud. Plus, that V10 sounds better, both inside and out of the cockpit.

I'll take the Fcar gearbox over eGear any day, tho- no comparison there, especially on the track. And Lambo paddles really are odd, they need to fix that.

When push comes to shove, I'd take the Scud. But, for the price of a lightly used Superleggera (or even catsexotic's LP560), it's hard to pass up the Lambo. It's just as much car, just a slightly different feel.

I've driven both the standard Gallardo and the SL (I haven't driven the LP560). Personally, I think 430 sounds better inside the car.. it sounds racier, edgier. The Gallardo sounds deep and muscular, but not as exciting.

Outside, the Gallardo does have a sweet, exotic note. It sounds good, no question. The 430 is not as melodious, but it definitely sounds like it means business.. true race-car pitch and intensity, with that touch of 'special' mixed in.

I think they even show a dog driving it fast.........If's it on Top Gear, it has to be true right?

I doubt the LP560/4 could destroy the F430 Scuderia in a drag race. European magazine tests show similar results for these two cars.

The Gallardo has more power and torque, but it also has another 500+ lbs that hurt braking, acceleration and especially handling. It needs another 85 Hp to compensate for the extra weight. The advantage in a drag race from the Gallardo is the AWD and Launch control for U.S versions. Once rolling, launch control has no meaning. At a race track, the Scuderia would carry more exit speed and both cars will accelerate at a similar pace, but the Scuderia is accelerating from a higher speed.

A 2002 Corvette Z06 feels powerful, but on a drag race with my low power 2004 GT3 (380 Hp), the GT3 would just leave the Vette behind. My old GT3 was a 11.82 secs 1/4 mile car, the Scuderia accelerates much stronger than my old GT3, my guess is that the Scuderia is capable of low 11s in the 1/4 miles without the LC button.

By the way, sudden WOT from a stop makes the Scuderia take off much better, there is good wheel spin as well. As with all my cars, I bring them to a drag way once in their lives, do three runs, get my print outs and put them with my maintenance records. It's good to have actual weight figures, acceleration, dyno graphs and factory pictures during assembly for your own car.

Lots of people confuse torque with acceleration. My old S2000, Celica GT-S, GT3 RS, GT3 they all are low torque cars compared to their competitors, but somehow they manage to accelerate as well or better than their competitors while being lighter.

There is no other production car with over 500 Hp that actually weighs under 3,000 lbs (real weight, no user's manual misleading info).

If any Southern California LP560/4 is up to the challenge, let's bring both cars to a drag way and run them there for three runs. Stock vs. Stock in the same weather conditions. I prefer to get my three runs against a LP560/4 than the usual Mustang/Civic/Taurus running in the other lane.

Yuck....this thread is so silly. A tenth of a second here and there when only a few can wring that difference out of them.

What it come down to is what fits you on a personal level and trips your trigger. My last girlfriend was a blond, and some of you guys met her. She was smokin', healthy, educated, had money, respectful, lined up in so many ways. And almost ten years younger tham moi.

So what was my problem? I have never had a thing for blonds. And I think it's insurmountable. My fav is olive skin and exotic looks. I like red heads too....even with freckles. Cars are no different when you get to a certain point.

You'll know it if you drive it a bit. And your decision won't be based on 0-60 times.

One last thing. I was gonna sell my F430 and Stradale to get a Scud. I had numerous people and dealers inquire about my CS which, by the numbers, should be inferior to the other car mentioned. The dealer that called me today said "we have great interest in the CS as we do well with those"

    So much for numbers.

As you can see they BOTH walked away from the Scud, it wasnt until high speed did the GT2 catch back up to the LP. Scud still nowhere in sight.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnAYUOzlQd4&feature=related

Surely you can see the LP is a formidable car. Just look at the start and the way it dominates around the track. The scud was coming on though. Wouldve been nice to see 2 more laps or those two star out even on the grid.

By the way, you guys blasting 4WD in racing, dont forget that the AudiR10 has been dominating LeMans for years with their 4 wheel Quattro system. There is a place for it, more grip obviously.

I think these threads start to sound like a mines bigger than yours, and they usually drift from the way they started. I think they are both great cars, and I have never driven either a scud or a LP, but I did or do own a 430 coupe and a 04 Gallardo Coupe. For those who do not know me, I have also owned 125 other cars in the last 10 years, and I also HATE AWD sports cars, and I do not like traction control or any of those other electronic driving things. My Gallardo has been changed to RWD, with the addition of a Fabspeed exhaust has lost 250lbs, and it now drives and handles the way it should have from the factory. I also own a supercharged (and other mods done) 997S with over 500hp, that has had most of its chasis parts redone in titanium and other lightweight materials (the mods cost more than the 103k sticker on the car), it easily does 11.4 in street tires, and yes I have lost more money on cars in the last 10 years than my shore house cost, yes I know I'm crazy, I guess I should have tried to learn to play golf.

I have a great passion for exciting cars, whether it is a Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Lotus, BMW, or a Chevy Corvette, and I get an even bigger thrill from making these cars better than the way they came from the factory, and enjoy driving them even more when I get them just the way I like them. I say drive what moves you, enjoy it while you can regardless of the label that is on the back.

I'd happily sacrifice 0.05s/lap for the Lambo's gorgeous styling. The Scud, while fast, is ungainly.

    Basic question here guys....

Can I even fit in an LP560?????

I'm 6 foot 4 inches tall & 220 lbs. Narrow-waisted, but broad shoulders. I don't even want to enter the Lambo vs. Scud debate if I can't fit in the Lambo. Unfortunately, there isn't one on every street corner to sit in and find out for myself.

Any input will be most appreciated. Thanks in advance!

I'm pretty sure you would fit in a Scud, the Lambo, I think it would be real tight fit.

..... Just one dealer alone near my region (within 100 miles) has two Scuderias. Every other dealer, which is about three that I have searched, each have at least one scuderia. And one dealer alone has six regular F430s available.

Lamborghini is much harder to find in my region. I could find three dealers, two have two LP560s and one has 3 + 1 roadster.

Now, what one can glean from here is that Lambos are rarer by default, which is true in both volume-wise and number of dealers-wise, so it's natural they'll have less cars than Ferrari. Still, the picture I paint is far from what you claim where Lambos are easily available and Scuderias are totally sold-out. Not true; both sides have plenty of cars available. And all the F430s are selling for 200-ish K or less. The LP560s that have listed prices sell for above that, about max 240K-ish.

EDIT: An 08 Scuderia around here sells for about 275K.

thats right, not even close, coming from a 430, i wanted a 560.
But after i sat in one, im put off by the claustrophobic feel of the cabin.
and im only 5'10 and 160lbs. u will never fit in there.
the only reason i would get a 560 its because i have 3 ferraris and no lambo, but if it cost the same as a scud, no way.
thats why my scud is coming in a few months.
But i still have a soft spot for lambos, wish they were cheaper here though.

and the point of all this ?

    its an endless debate.

Guy A loves Ferrari Guy B Loves Lambo

when Guy C loves them all and sleep peacefully at night and will be happy owning anyone of the two or both !

Guy A and B arguing all day long when guy C enjoying his new ride all day long.

point is buy what you like, and respect others people choices.
