Car gurus has a notation on the car stating “salvage reported”. That explains it.
Most are above $250K and MY19-20 well-optioned ones are in the $300s. The less optioned ones and/or 10+k miles and/or MY18s are $230-240s, give it time though, as with most Macs, prices will continue to drop rapidly across the board, hence why I said “current climate”...I have no doubt the 720S will continue to drop. Newbies spec’ing the 765LTs to the hilt are in for a massive buttrape in the secondary market lol.
Then there was the '18 720s with 5000 miles sold in UK for c.a $ 150k, half MSRP https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/mclaren-supercar-sells-online-auction-half-original-price-drops-temporary-blip/191325
^^^ I like the personality of last gen vs. current gen cars which is why I am Scud guy. And not to change thread topic here but... 720s today starting to look pretty good. Not sure how many here have driven but Mclaren definitely has its own unique feel. Chassis from the future, fast turbo laggy engine from the past and I mean that in a good way. If the day came where you could swap a quality Scud for a quality 19/20 720s I would think about it. Then immediately feel guilty and not do it But I would think about it.
Richard isn’t that wrong, here in Switzerland the prices are overlapping. 36 Scuds on the web until up to 299k (one in collectors condition). From the 720S there are currently 16 available till down to 206k. Finally 8 Scuds are in the price range of the 720S‘s, or the other way around, 11 720S are in the range of the Scuds. But if you observe the scene a little bit you will come to the conclusion that not that much movement is in this market.
True of every McLaren since the P1.....just a year ago, we were told how the 600LT was going to be the car to reverse the trend.....LOL I just don't know where new buyers are going to come from since I can't imagine they will get many repeat buyers. At some point, even super rich guys will throw in the towel.
Wasn’t it supposed to be the 675LT lol? I remember being called out for saying it was going to continue to drop...now you see spiders going for $200-220k, and with 600LTs and 720s continuing to drop, Mac prices are only going to continue to soften across the board...
No way. Its really fast. Different. Not sure these things can be objectively compared anyway but both cars deliver near equal amounts of drama in different ways.
Drove the 720S (luxury edition) from Foitek Automobile AG they had for a while, what a boring car. It never would have occurred to me to buy this thing. So many things on this earth are a pure matter of taste.
Exactly. Decade old analogue cars are the best cars. At least to this particular car guy. Newer than that, all digital, no soul. Older than that and always wishing for more g-forces.
720 is a great car. It’s a bit like a 650 and a 570 and all the others. It oozes engineering quality. It will stir your soul maybe if you’re an engineer, otherwise it will get you place to place very fast if there’s no traffic, and not much more. Scuderia will stir your soul, as does my gated 430 spider, and just the sound is worth the money. It’s also slower and less competent than the 720. So is a GTO and a F40. I liked the 720 great car. But for a special occasion drive? Not special enough in feel or looks or sound.
The only fire around McLaren is the rate they are going through money....they stand a reasonable chance of not being around in 5 years...meanwhile you won't lose a dime on a Scuderia.
I am an Engineer, and Engineering Quality means you can implement ideas in a rational and reliable manner, which they fail to do too many times. McLaren is more like a science project....
Uhm why we are talking about Mclaren cars. The topic is Scud pricing guide, not Mclaren pricing guide... Mclaren is a car without any emotion and a lot of technical problems, look for it on internet, overwelming. Also the value of a Mc is dropping daily... keep the Scud and enjoy it.
