    Hi,

Had my scud for two weeks, 08 with 9K miles on it...CPO from the Auto Gallery Ferrari...

The P000A code means 'Engine Position System Performance - bank 1'

I have searched for the code on this forum and nothing.

The car is running great...no noticeable difference in power and I noticed the CEL was just on when driving it this afternoon.

    Any ideas?

I cleared the code and taking for a run now...

    Thanks!

    David.

    David,
Congrats on your new scud! I have had my Scud for 3 months and am very happy with the car.
Sorry, I can't help with your CEl issue.
    Good luck

Are you sure it's not P0008? That would indicate that the cam timing is not it line with crankshaft. Usually a failed camshaft actuator or actuator solenoid.

...it's a P000A and the description that I indicated above...

Just got back from a spirited drive up Angeles Crest in the San Gabriel mountains, and it feels amazing still! No power loss, engine sounds and feels great as does the car.

No CEL...will have to see if it comes back...also got a call into Ferrari Autogallery...

You are in CA? Ever drive up to Newcombs Ranch or out on the GMR??

It would be fun to go drive together...

    Love my scud!! You?!

This sound very similar to my problems? I have written about my struggle to get rid of two fault codes. The first time I got these was after a track day. I haven't gotten them in normal traffic, just after driving really hard and it is set during full throttle acceleration an full throttle shifts. No change in engine performance, just the CEL...

It is set for the right bank in my case too

P1528 (1528) - Camshaft Control Outlet, Circuit sig
    P0014 (0014) - CAMSHAFT B POSITION –SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

There is a one thread here at ferrarichat and a little longer thread at the other forum we cant write about (FL)... It is under "Scuderia CEL/error after hitting rev limiter?"

Did this issue just go away or have you found any specific solution for it?

My 430 just threw this code. P000A - "Camshaft position slow response bank 1". Anyone else ever have it? I'm bringing it in tomorrow. I just want to be prepared what to expect. Sounds like a sensor to me. Car runs fine.

I know this is an old thread but any updates on this P000A code. My scud just threw the same code and I have no issues with performance. It only does it if it is very hot Outside and I drive the car hard. I understand from my mechanic that it could be the variators that are bad and it’s an expensive engine out replacement. Anyone has any advice? Thanks in advance.

Variators do not require engine out. Just need to take off the valve covers. Just did this on my scud and it’s no fun (tight quarters, working blind, etc). Try cleaning the connectors to the variatiors first. You may not get another cel for a long time. The solenoids aren’t cheap unfortunately (and you need four). Good luck and lost your results!

    What he said.
I just did the 4 solenoids on my F430 (by did I mean my Indy did). Also had him do the valve gaskets while he was in there. Almost $7k for that service... [emoji51]

I found that the maserati part is a little cheaper from Eurospares and can get both for one bank for about 800 shipped to save a little on this - just food for thought if anyone is dealing with this.

Curious if the code P000A assuming specific to the intake cam on bank one, technically you would just need to replace one solenoid that controls the intake cam timing. I understand doing tthe other, that controls the exhaust cam, while the cover was off, but in most cases it probably does not make sense to open up the other side if there are no codes or symptoms. Why do all four solenoids? Is this just preemptive?

The other 3 solenoids were replaced strictly as a preventative measure. I needed the head gaskets changed anyways, and since they already have one cover off and it was only another hour of labor to get to the other one I decided to get the gaskets done. As such, while they were doing that I figured I might as well do all the solenoids since they are prone to failure anyways.

Yeah good call. I think you meant cam cover gaskets. Head gaskets would not have been a fun experience.

Does anyone know the part number for the solenoid(s) I need to replace?
