Happy Thanksgiving everyone! My wife and I are visiting our family and want to get away for nice Italian dinner this evening. Any suggestions in the Scottsdale, Paradise Valley area? I guess even east of Central Ave. would still be ok. Thanks everyone. Ricardo
Maggianos is pretty good and the servings are huge. It is on Scottsdale Road and Frank Lloyd Wright. Fountain Hills has a few italian restaurants and Casa Mia has a good reputation for quality of food, they are north of Shea on 136 st. The owner is a very nice and it is a family run restaurant. I had dinner at Sassi, a few week ago, it was just excellent. Unfortunately, I don't have the address of phone number with me. Regards, Milton
Uncle Sal's ristoranti on Hayden around Osborn in Scottsdale. One of the best Italian restaurants in Scottsdale. Maggiano's is very ritzy, valet parking and all, but the food is so so.
This may be too late for you but the NE valley is full of great Italian food. Some of my favorites: La Locanda, Scottsdale road , one block south of Shea Lecabaffi, SE corner of Hayden & Mountainview Grazie (best pizza on the planet!) Main St Scottsdale, west of Goldwater Marcelinos, 16th and Northern Un Bacio, Doubletree road next to the Hyatt Franco's Caffe, 24th and Camelback Veneto Tratorria, Hilton Village center, Scottsdale road south of Lincoln Il Tiramisu, SE corner of Shea and Scottsdale rds Tomaso's, 32nd and Camelback Countless others as well, but these are the one I like
Have to agree with most of the selections, but if you ever find yourself down town, try Pino's just West of Central Ave on the South side of Osborn for lunch or early dinner (they close at 8 and are not open weekends). Small place, cash, limited parking, great authentic food. Pino still goes back home to Italy every summer. Don't drive your Ferrari.
Thank you all for your great advice and many choices. We went to Casa Mia on Fri night and the service was very good, the food was genuinely Italian and there was plenty of parking. We will return next time we're in the Valley. The only observation I want to make is that the wine list is limited to Italian vino--unknown names, fairly pricey and difficult to choose from. This is not a complaint, just a comment which probably shows my lack of familiarity of Italian wine--a few California choices would have been nice. At any rate, it was very pleasant and the food, I repeat, was excellent. Grazie amici! Ricardo
I love CASA MIA's it came highly recommended by MY355 when I wanted to take a lady out for some authentic Italian. I never heard him drop so many F-Bombs in one conversation while describing the food (and he's from NY) so I had to try it. The food was so good I didn't want to leave. Anyhow that my 2 cents damn see, now I want to there tonight, thanks Bill, we had Dim Sum for luch today it was good. =)
Danilo the owner is a friend and customer of ScaleCars.com (when I owned it). He is also a big Ferrari and Ducati fan as well!
Only Italians and French make red wine, from California it is simply grape juice. Image Unavailable, Please Login
