And I should mention - NEITHER spinning driver was Dave!!!! Imagine HIS nerves!! Yikes!! Cheers & C U @ d'Track!! C Chuck Hawks, Pro-Driver, Coach, Instructor & Facilitator rEvolution Performance
David actually asked me what i thought about letting someone drive his car and my answer was " absolutely not, not on such a slippery track on street tires surrounded by concrete and guardrails." I'm glad his car survived. Karl
This is the very reason that when I drove David in his car my normal 7/10s limit was dialed back to 4-5/10s... I maintained the same lower limit in every car I drove there. Just not worth it. Cheers & C U @ d'Track!! C Chuck Hawks, Pro-Driver, Coach, Instructor & Facilitator rEvolution Performance
Same reason I thankfully declined his offer for me to drive his car. No reason to take unnecessary chances, especially with someone elses property. I started to suffer turbo failure in my car on wednesday and was short about 100hp. I looked at that as a blessing. 2 min from the track on the way home it let go in a big way and I had to tow it home.
Dude... that sucks. I am sorry that happened to you but glad if it was going to happen it was not on track. All the best on getting it fixed back up. I have no doubt you know how to get it done up right though. ~C From the Droid space
No worries Chuck. S**t happens. I was coming out of most corners sideways. With another 100 ponies I may have been seeing where I came from, lol. During the Comp. school on wednesday I was the only car out on street tires. Kept up fine with the 430 Challenge cars with half boost. So it was all good and safe. A blessing that the turbo let go just moments from the hotel. Got a cab to the airport, got a rental, took the kids to dinner and then met our tow guy from Charleston. Had that happened half way home it would have been a mess. Scoping out better turbos so I can get more power while repairing the car. Cheers
Yes Peter. There IS a substitute for cubic inches. A big hairdryer hanging off each header, lol. And I'll be able to sleep 1 minute longer each morning. Karl
