Just arrived in Venice after 4 days leaving the Uk them to the Netherlands,Germany.Austria and now Italy.
FF drives superbly effortless 160mph down the autobahn superb. but but but ask the nav were it thinks the car is 50% of the time it is lost.
left the Uk and had driven 200km before the nav caught up the same everyday.
    Any body else had issue.

I don't even bother to turn it on, it's tragi-comedic.

    Tomtom 940 does the job.

Sometimes mine takes a minute or two to lock onto my current location, but it's been fine otherwise. The partial postcode entry is a bit old school though.

In the US, our nav system that comes with the car does not allow us to enter addresses into the nav system while the car is moving. I had my mechanic make a swap of one of the modules of the system with a module from eariler/Euro models, that does allow entry of address info while the car is moving. The downside of this swap is now the car more often than not believes it is moving in the direction opposite of reality for at least the first few minutes after starting up, even from a short stop for gas or such in mid route. It almost always corrects itself when the car makes a 90 degree or greater change in direction, but if going along in a general same direction, it continues to not find the error of its way until I cancel the navigation and then resume.

With the original module that came with the car and prevented address entry while moving, the car never experienced this behavior and others with FFs in the US have reported no issues with their nav sytems being lost like this. And by address entry, I mean original new address info, not selecting from the previously entered list, but actual input of new city, street, number info.

So the new, improved Lawyer-screwed-up module that prevents useful interface with the Nav system while moving gives good directions and knows the actual direction of travel, but the more friendly version more often than not starts out lost and needs help finding its way. I chose to keep the lost module, knowing my navigator can usually make it find itself with some fussing, preferring the ability to make changes in desitination while moving over having to stop every time we decide to change destination mid-route. We use the nav a lot on long trips, and having to stop every time we change our minds just sucks.

My question to you Brit (and other Euro or non-US) owners is: can you enter address info in your nav system while moving? IE: do you have the confused module like I now have as opposed to locked-down-for-my-safety version that all US Nav systems come with?

I cannot for the life of me understand why the engineers decded to go with this Chrysler POS product with so many better NAV systems out there. I'm guessing they got a really good deal on them...

I find myself using Google Maps on my android phone more often than the built-in nav system for short drives. On long trips, my wife gets to cuss and fuss with the Chrysler junk. If only all car manufacturers would just give up with the whole nav/entertainment system nonsense and provide us with a clean interface to our smart phones that have tackled these issues so well. A clean touch screen interface to my smart phone (and not just the latest Apple phone, but all smart phones irrespective of OS) with strong clean audio amplifiers and speakers and microphones in the car would be awesome.

im in the US but the NAV always works fine. agree its not the best system in the world but its way better than whats in my 11 range rover supercharged and 13 LR4.

not being able to ender an address while moving does suck but that's most cars today

Is this the case on all US new car nav systems, or just Ferrari nanny stuff.

I've never had any issue with mine. I can't comment on use outside of the UK as the car has never been abroad, but at home the satnav has always worked fine, and never got lost. It is annoying that you can't input a full postcode as you can with other systems, but if I ever do have a problem in locating a specific address, I use either the maps or tomtom apps on my iPhone and with Bluetooth connectivity the directions are voiced through the car speakers anyway, even without a map visual. Although that can also be achieved by mounting your phone somewhere convenient or even resting it within the binnacle in front of the steering wheel. Hopefully Ferrari will come up with a better satnav system soon! And in answer to Eric's question, yes I can make changes to the destination while the car is moving.
