He bought the car off Copart about 120 days ago. I forgot what he paid.

And no pics of the interesting parts...

Hope, they repaired the car well and not just put bondo on top of everything...

He's a total scum bag. I almost want to bid on it just to waste his time.

This car hammer sold at CoPart, March, 2012, for $340K plus 12% commission. Anyone know who the dealer is being represented in the ad?

some pics of the car damaged in this thread (post impact at drivers door rear edge, cut through to the CF tub) ...it'd be great if someone (shomehow) could link the picture of damage (or comment info) to the sale thread ....then again, someone would have to be pretty stupid to go after a "salvage title" car and not investigate "why"

Surely the most famous F50 in history, I think the seller underestimates his potential customers regarding this car ( everybody who is interested in these cars knows the story, and those that don't, would very easily find out about from google or by asking anybody they know with an interst in F50's ),

You could maybe pull the wool over somebodies eyes like this with a Bmw or Porsche boxster or 911, but defiantly not a Porsche GT or this F50, cars like this are too rare, and transparency will be the only thing to help him sell it , me thinks.

I doubt the tub has been replaced, just seems to quick to of repaired the damage as well as the tub, ( unless of course he had a tub lying around and a few spare parts just ready to throw at it ).

I notice in the pics from the first page of this thread above, the paint flaking from the rear diff/gearbox where the Ferrari emboss is, and is still the same now. As well as the missing centre caps.

Seems like it was just desperate to get the car shining and presentable as soon as possible without unnecessary expenditure. Speaks volumes.

yes, exactly ...so we can say with a large amount of certainty this car has some "patching" done to the bodywork & tub that were damaged ...notice the seller says that the missing caps & books are all that the car has problem with

I noticed that he does not show a side pic of the drivers side as he does with the other side. You can probably see the repair work. I bet the gaps do not line up.

    He says

" THIS CAR WAS STOLEN FROM A FERRARI DEALER
    YEARS AGO AND RECENTLY WAS
    RECOVERED WITH NOTHING MISSING !!
IT WAS SITTING IN A WAREHOUSE
    FOR MORE THAN 5 YEARS

ALL THE BODY PANELS ARE ORIGINAL
    FACTORY
    SEE PHOTOS "

So he is not divulging the car was crashed badly? Isnt this against Ebay's rules?

All original panels....so it must have buffed out......that sure looks like a ton of "scathing" to have just said that the car was totally unscathed.

With that sort of damage it makes me wonder what was done during that joy ride that pitched them sideways into what i can only assume is a curb

Its an optical illusion, your eyes are actually opening up wider and wider as you read more because you are in such shock at how great of a deal this is to own the only theft recovery f50 out there..... Is it classiche certified though?

Tree, actually, IIRC. ("He went over a curb, took out the rear wheel and suspension and planted the side of the car firmly around a tree.")

That carbon fiber structure just seems so amenable to repair by SuperGlue, but I hope the buyer doesn't try to drive it home. It’s likely to break in half exiting the dealer’s driveway.

I thought replacement parts for this car were pretty much unattainable or a very long lead time to get them from the factory.
I also thought the reason it was totaled was because of liability issues with the tub being damaged. I doubt the seller replaced the tub.
