I tried the 308 section, and haven't any reponses so I thought I'd try the general forum: With the new owner, I'm researching the story/history/provenance of this lovely car, and I wonder if anyone here can add to the wonderfully colorful history of its birth and journey? I can be reached via F-Chat PM (I think), or directly through [email protected] (Pictures by Peter Sweeney, www.forzamotorsports.com, used by permission.) Looked at some Dino pics and they're not Dino wheels, I believe you're right. Either way, def looks diff on a 308.
I was looking at this car just yesterday.. I kinda like it and all the special history and love the production pictures!!.. Not a fan of the white top but, hey the factory made it that way. Wheels say Dino on the website and here are a couple of recent posts from fchat members of these wheels on Dinos. Dinos had several types of wheels. ashsimmonds: http://img153.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ferraridino1051fa.jpg ferrarinyc: http://images.marketworks.com/fullView.asp?id=170347646&fc=0&img=http://images.auctionworks.com/hi/69/69101/dino_018.jpg
Don't know the car, but having dealt with Peter Sweeny over the years and even buying a car from him last year, I can say that he's as honest as they come.

Those are Campagnolos, which were the optional Dino wheels on the flaired arch Dinos (Which along with the Daytona seats was called Chairs and flares) They are an inch wider at 7.5 x 14 than the stock Cromadora 6.5" wheel. dm. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I thank you. I've been a sporadic user of F-Chat, but I gather you're associated with Ferrari Market Letter? You have educated me about interim owners. The new owner has graciously allowed me to be his beloved charge's 'official historian', and will no doubt make his presence known shortly. He purchased it from Peter Sweeney at Forza just two weeks ago, and I think we all have new friends. Current indicated mileage is ~21,000. The car is immaculate. ...I mean IMMACULATE. ...Most cars don't get delivered new in such nice shape. Credit to the previous owners and to Peter Sweeney. I haven't yet examined the documentation but I understand it is comprehensive, contiguous, and extensive. The build photos (and I've talked to the new owner about the importance of scanning them and posting them here) are fantastic. It was offered recently by Rossnagel on FerrariAds: http://www.ferrarichat.com/ferrariads/showproduct.php?product=1028&sort=1&cat=11&page=1 My sincere thanks to all who've replied, but especially to "NNO". As far I can tell so far, that "experimental" department was an experimental 'accounting' department. (Apologies to "Tifosi 308".) ...It's been pointed out to me that the sticker price was < than market, and the first owner was the Ferrari NA corporate attorney.
Always glad to help and even more grateful for the return of information... I'm eagerly awaiting pictures of this car with its white top... I imagine it's boldly different and interesting and exploits an angle of Ferrari beauty we don't often see... Thank you for sharing...
No I have creame...that's "bright white" baby! Sorry I didn't see the other thread in our Section, but I had no info...... From the VIN number it's younger than mine by a little, titled as a 1978? Titled at ALL?? You know those attroneys..... That white exterior strip is VERY interesting thanks for posting...
That is quite different. I think if the body were white instead of red it would look better, but that's just me.
Hello, As the owner of S/N 24961, I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to my friend Mark, NN, and all of you for providing some amazing information on my car which I may well not have known without the members of this great community. This is my first Ferrari, and I have dreamed of owning a Ferrari ever since I was ten years old when I was exposed to a 365GTB Daytona, as well as a 246 GT Dino, both owned by my Father's friend who actually started the Daytona causing me to jump into my Fathers arms in fear of my life. That was 29 years ago, and those memories are just as vivid as they were that very day. All I know is that I love my Ferrari, and dreams do come true. I have attached some photographs with the white roof attched. Image Unavailable, Please Login
