Has anyone tried these on a 348 in the 18" application? If so, could you please post your personal real world experience? There have been tons of discussion in regards to aftermerket wheels (and yes, I have done due dilligence in the search function) Problem is "too much data"... I'm thinking either Ronal or HRE.
I'll bet the Ronal LZs are about half the price of comparable HRE wheels (especially when you remember that FCA members get 20% off the Ronal wheels), but on the other hand, HRE wheels may be lighter. I hope Gary of Ronal will join in here... I wish they had weights of their wheels in various configurations posted on their website. They only have a very few scattered here and there.
24-26Lbs?.... Yes, the HRE are rather pricey. I like the look of both. I was thinking the chrome/silver w red accent in the Ronal. I chatted via email with Gary and he seems very knowledgable.
I have 17" LZ on my 308. I bought them after breaking one of the Gottis that I had on the car. First, I really like the look on the car. I know a lot of F guys will scoff, but I like the modern look, and so do non-ferraristi. One problem I had was getting the proper backspacing, but Gary worked it out after a couple tries. Here's the big one: weight. Actually they might not be that heavy compared to most wheels, but my Gotti rear wheel was 40lbs with tire, the Ronal came in a little over 55 lbs. Bigger tire though. Still, that's 10-15 lbs per corner... I'll see if I can get a picture on this post a little later today.
Matt, Thanks, agreed I think it updates the look, I'll keep the stock set-up, I just think they look dated.
Ronal USA, offers the LZ wheels---as the only wheel that can be used for staggered sizes. It is available in 17x8-9", and 18x8"-10", and 19x8.5-10" sizes. Any combination can be used on front and rear. Custom built to specific offsets, and chrome and custom paint is available. You can see examples of these on various Ferrari cars at www.ronalusa.com INDEX of CARS SECTION, Ferrari Wheel weights vary by size, starting at 23 lbs-17"--and going up by size. Generally you can figure about 2 lbs per Inch size upgrade. If you want to be a bit more passive, you can opt for a ONE PIECE wheel, in 16-18" sizes, ie: R41, RT, LV, R7, R38, ---these start as low as 16 lbs in 16", 17" start at 19 lbs, etc. and go upwards....For instance you can run a 17x8" front and 18x8.5, or 8" in rear---or 17x8" front and rear w. slightly wider tires on rear-----TOO many OPTIONS to LIST here, but if interested, call 800-899-1212
