Well, i like it, but then again i love my 612 too. They need a more elegant cleaner F car option for some of us
I would like a better look at the blue one in the video. In the right color, it's going to be a stunner. sjd
Leagues? Based on what? Are guys really going to eck out the extra 10th of a second burning rubber and stressing transmission to do 100% acceleration runs in these cars? The usable performance of this car will be essentially not distinguishable from the two cars you mention (in top engine combo) and they cost less and are at least similar build quality etc. This new Ferrari is a good contender in the space, not some "leagues better" GT 2+.
Best Ferrari 2+2 design since the 612. I've been trying to replace my former 456M 2+2, and have been looking at 612's and FF's, but the 612 is pretty old now and I just can't fall in love with the awkward styling of the FF. This car will leave a 612 for dead, and make the FF look like an ugly stepsister. So I'm thinking I'll wait a couple of years and get a certified preowned Roma. It will compliment my 360 manual perfectly. I wasn't impressed by most of the release colors, except for this one, which has gotten almost no press attention. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don’t see much similarity save the four wheels, one in each corner? The trouble is, many cars look a little alike, they can’t help it, there are common design ethos everywhere. Cheap Japanese cars make a living from almost-copying the designs of true design classics, that’s their point, most of the looks for half the price. Doesnt mean you ought to think of buying one though!
Again and again another thread about the Roma, why??? Guys please, there is a section about this great new model - here: https://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/forums/california-portofino-roma.140/
Generic and bland. A "Ferrari" for people who don't care about sportscars and Ferrari. And to think they replaced a V12 with it. Sad.
How can you say that with that hideous grille? The 550 does indeed have one of the best fronts, but look at the grille of that Maserati Alfieri and tell me with a straight face you think that's as beautiful.
I like it .. and I may love it gotta see it in person .. will I get it. hard to say Ferrari is coming out with models so fast it makes it hard to keep interest in any one model..
It is, and it's the only part of the car that looks cheap on the outside. Ferrari's design team always seems to need to do at least one thing to screw up a clean design! Lol I also don't particularly like the divided cabin thing. The new Corvette has that as well. Feels a bit affected...like a pretend race car. But overall I still like it.
Overall design and shape, not details. I’m pretty sure they will offer a traditional grill option like they did on the 575. The Alfieri‘s best feature is it’s grill!
You don't think Ferrari has had a unique design since the 60's? What about the Testarossa or the Enzo? The TRS?
No, you said "the design of the Roma is hardly unique" I'm contending that particular shape hasn't been unique since the 60's. everyone is up in arms that it looks like an aston or an F-type. sure. So does a Daytona, so does a 240Z, so does an Iso, so does....make a list. Ferrari as a company has had PLENTY of unique designs, many of the them trendsetting, and there are many unique elements to the Roma, but the general shape is nothing new, and become less new the more computers are relied on for shaping. Want unique back? revoke pedestrian shaping and MPG restrictions. sjd
My 612 may be “a little old” but it has room for 4 “real” people and is the best road car I have ever driven. I really like the Roma ( but it needs 12 cylinders) but it compares to a Porsche 911 in passenger space. I could replace my Porsche with this car but not my 612.
