Hi guys, I've had the new roma spider for a few weeks and want to get a higher pitch from the exhaust.

I'm planning to buy the Novitec X-Pipe (which appears to be regular stainless steel not inconel)

    Article No. F1 333 32

I will also plan to buy a valve controller (novitec or capristo etc)

I would prefer not to mess w the cats

I finally have my 488 sounding great with the novitec inconel valveless exhuast and some ryft titanium test pipes, really nice F1 style sound, but crazy loud.

I'd like to get the roma spider (similar motor) as close as possible from a pitch standpoint, but ideally would like to retain the cats if possible (but I am willing to delete if really necessary to get the pitch) and the valve (family car so want to be able to quiet it down when required haha)

Recognize theres a particulate filter in the mix and I have no clue how that works with the cats in terms of flow and pitch etc.

Your thoughts appreciated - open to other brands but focused on getting the highest pitch not volume.

I don't have a Roma but I installed sport cats & an X pipe on my 2011 Cali. Retained the rear mufflers (pinned open). Really improved the sound. My Ferrari mechanic said mine is the best Cali he's ever heard.

I’m also considering the same setup for my 2022 Roma..Would be nice to have more info from somebody who has gone this route on the Roma.

Before you spend the money, ask your dealer if it will void your warranty. It will on the F8 with the GPF. I’m guessing you will have the same issue as I did.

According to the Ferrari website installing any aftermarket parts will void the warranty (that is standard 3 years) but you can probably negotiate some other type of warranty

Majority of the high pitch sounds are muffled by the turbochargers. Thats where the higher frequencies are damped. Not much you can do about that. X-pipes, exhausts etc mostly increase the low end volume, but not the actual tone.

Under the Magnuson-Moss act, if you're in the US, it is illegal to void the warranty for aftermarket parts. They would have to demonstrate that any failure was as a result of the aftermarket parts.

You say that as if Ferrari cares. They've never given a crap about M-M, Right to Repair or anything else like that.
A while back someone posted a document from his dealer explaining Ferraris are fine tuned machines and any modification will have an effect on that "balance" and thus voids the warranty. Go ahead and sue them.

I just installed and tested the Novitec XPIPE on my 2023 Roma. I must admit, without changing anything else, there weren't many noticeable differences (loudness, pitch). I guess I'll look into pinning the valves and maybe deleting the cat.

I discovered exactly your point after recently installing my XPIPE.
