Hi, interesting to read about the exhaust upgrades. I’m collecting my 2023 Roma in mid April. It’s delayed due to 30cm of snow got dumped on Stockholm this week.
I’m fitting it with black 21/22” Novitec wheels and a yellow cross bonnet stripe.

Will a X-pipe make much difference on the exhaust and does anyone have experience from OPF delete? I would like to keep the installation to a minimum so it can be removed with out a trace when I return the car.
    Regards
    Chris

First and Foremost I hope Ferrari is listening! I just got my Roma in early March of this year (and they called it a 2022!) More important, I love everything about the Roma except the exhaust note. To me its a constant drone through each gear and nothing like any other Ferrari I have driven and very disappointing. I have seen a video of the someone on this chat page putting a fab speed system and the before and after sound and to me it sounded the same. I also heard a video from Vivid racing where they combined a Novitec system, Fabspeed Xpipe and their chip set and it did sound nice for the price of $15,000! If the Roma was the first Ferrari I have ever purchased I would not but another one.

Hi I just changed the back pipes which gave it a valve delete . It made the Roma feel much more free on driving. I seen a Ferrari table and it shows the valves closed in various level’s through the speed and rev range. I have video showing how I installed in myself and it is easy to put back to stock. I am not so sure about x pipe on Roma. I had x pipe on v12 Ferraris and it makes a huge difference.
Here is the video of install

Thanks Chris. Question, after you installed the system does it give you a higher pitch sound? How does it sound in 5th, 6th 7th gear, does it still sound droney?

    Thank you

May I ask why you opted for the valve delete pipes vs the remote control from Novitec or Capristo?

I have a Roma and I'm deciding what to do.

    Thank you in advance!

The valves are now connected to the computer and in Roma it is not vacuum operated. The Fabspeed comes with modules you plug in to fool the computer included in price , the Novitec you pay a lot more and I don’t think at the time I bought it Capristo had solved the issue. Frankly having installed valves delete I can tell you that the remote control will be a waste

Gotcha thank you. For clarity, I'm talking about these things, not the full exhaust.

I read the small print last year on each supplier. I also asked my dealer to install Capristo module and they said they could not without errors being generated. For my F8 even though it’s a vacuum valve , it also throws errors . Starting F8 it seems Ferrari are taking more inputs into the computer from valve. I did see a power table for Roma that shows how the computer is controlling the valve opening percentage using the computer. Previously it was controlled by vacuum of engine on increase and decrease of engine speed . The challenge I was facing, if my Roma went back to service and error was on, there are many warranties that will be void. Also my Roma, and this is my 2nd, both go to service regularly for software issues .

    Thank you, it makes sense.
I just spoke to my local service and of course they were against any exhaust-related modification, he also showed me a letter from Ferrari from May 2022 reiteraing it.
He was saying that with GPF filters all the exhaust system runs hot, with obvious bad consequences in case of malfunctions of the non original part.

That being said, I'll probably do the Fabspeed like you, it seems a very low risk mod.

I have no input on the exhaust but I recently got my 2023 Roma. I’m also thinking of doing a cross bonnet stripe on top of my PPF. I would love to see a picture of this on a Roma If you have one.

Fabspeed now offers an x-pipe for the Roma. You can also buy it as part of a performance package (exhaust parts,BMC air filters,ECU tune). On this engine, the power increase from an x-pipe is negligible, but it produces a higher pitched sound that Ferrari enthusiasts enjoy.

SVan, I see this pic online of a cross bonnet stripe, but not sure where to get it. Its on a Novitec car, you may want to reach out to them.
